Movie Reviews of The Pink Panther [Blu-ray]

Movie Review: better than the original
Summary: 5 Stars

This modern day remake of the classic 70s comedy slash adventure movie will thrill you with its brilliance. A word of warning this movie has some mild high occasional crude and sexual humor thrown in with some occasionally curse word from in and couple mild high moments of brief action adventure violence sequences. This movie should be thing for kids ages 10-12. As the movie begins a famous French soccer player has just been murdered. Office Closeau played by the well known comedian Steve Martian know for his famous roles in the 1980s particularly his role as the sadistic dentist in the 1980s remake of the 1960s colt classic Little shop of Horrors. I'd just fought I'd inform you there have been some changes made to this movie since the original version was first released about 30 years ago. The humor and puns in this movie are more adult humor than in the original 70s version. Three other major chances that have been made instead of the Pink Panther diamond belonging to a princess from India I believe it belongs to a local French soccer coach. 2 other changes that have been made are in the remake Closeau is not framed in court for stealing the diamond and put in jail as result. Another major change in the new version is that Closeau is not married and is not being cheated on secretly behind his back. Will the bumbling but handsome Closeau solve this baffling mystery find out in the thrilling hilarious conclusion to this wonderful remake.

Movie Review: SORRY I BOUGHT IT
Summary: 3 Stars

Maybe because I am such a huge fan of the original Pink Panther movies with Peter sellers I was expecting too much from this movie...Seems like this is one movie that should not be made without P.Sellers. I love Steve Martin and the movie was funny to a point.I don't think they could have found anoher actor who could have pulled it off better. It's an ok dvd--but one I could have waited to see on TV.

This is the nest movie we have seen/purchased in a long time - Steve Martin is classic and hilarious. And it is rated PG! Buy it!

Movie Review: Inspector Clouseau Returns in Good Form
Summary: 4 Stars

Steve Martin returns in one of the best cinematic roles ever created. Inspector Clouseau and his antics have always been the catalyst for outrageous mayhem and fun. This is true to form from Peter Sellers' approach to the role. That is what makes this film so successful and funny. Steve Martin is the third actor to portray Clouseau (the fourth if you include Roger Moore's appearance in CURSE OF THE PINK PANTHER in which Moore may or may not have been Clouseau) on screen.

Alan Arkin played him in 1968's INSPECTOR CLOUSEAU in an intentionally dry fashion. Martin returns to Maurice Richlin's character as honed by Sellers and that seems to work very well here.

Christophe Beck's score is admirable and he has Henry Mancini's Pink Panther Theme down in a robust elegiac form. Jean Reno is unusually stoic as Ponton.
