Movie Review: Could of been better.

After watching this im surprised anyone would give it five stars.
The acting was ok but the script was horrible.
The only redeeming quality about this movie is that it shows aspects of bdsm that are never seen. It was nice to see.

This is not your average low budget BDSM movie -- far from it. THE PET is an artistic independent feature that looks into the world of consensual slavery. From the credit crawls, the story appears to be loosely based on at least one real person in Santa Monica California. I thought this could only happen in California -- little did I know -- I went on line in Australia and there are lots of web sites and groups into this kind of strange sexual role-play. The acting is a little stiff occasionally, but it's more than made up for by the incredible cinematography, great music score and shocking situations -- which are all the more mind-blowing when you consider that they are REAL!!!!! ANY ONE INTO THE BIZARRE HAS TO SEE THIS MOVIE!! IT'S WELL WORTH IT.

Don't take any notice of the idiots who have written bad reviews here. They have an axe to grind because the movie isn't their kind of BDSM. This is a shocking look at the world of consensual slavery the good and the bad of it. The highs and the danger of being someone's personal slave. IT'S A REAL EYE OPENER. Beautifully photographed and the director has really done his research on the lifestyle. I Highly recommend it to anyone who's into alternate lifestyle, the characters are engrossing and the film is mesmerizing.Movie Review: By far the worst movie *ever*

This was the worst movie I have ever seen (and I've seen a few horrible ones!) the acting was terrible, the plot completely absurd and unrealistic, this is definitely NOT a D/s movie. I too am giving the movie away, I refuse to let anyone who is bent on seeing this movie actually pay for such an awful thing! (like *I* did) And I most certainly will never watch it again. I found this movie both intoxicating and beguiling. Beneath the surface, I recognize that the people are in a continual state of power dynamics - relying on one another just as yin and yang are interdependent.
I also found this movie disturbing, but beautiful. Although watching the special bond that develops between two individuals was initially upsetting, I found that watching the growth of that relationship was very enlightening. To see the characters mature on screen was refreshing.
Reading some critics' statements that this is "Not a BDSM movie," I am shocked. It is as if there is some pre-determined fixed Hollywood scenario for that genre. I can only imagine that since the movie has no sex or overt violence, it might not fit neatly into these critics' pre-established categories.
Above all, I have rarely seen such a fascinating and educational film. I highly recommend it.
