Movie Reviews of The Perfect Score (Widescreen Edition)Movie Review: It's Fun! Summary: 5 StarsI really liked "The Perfect Score." It was funny, fresh, an overall good heist movie for teenagers. The brief plot about the film is that it is about six kids who decide to break into the SAT lab testing building and steal the answers to the test, to ensure that they could get into a good high school. The cast is mostly unknowns except for Scarlet Johansson who recently starred in the brilliant "Lost in Translation" and the past film "Ghost World." "The Perfect Score" was trashed by the critics, but I thought it was a good time at the movies. It is not a masterpiece, but it is a great movie, if you see it with an open mind. The main character is Kyle, who is a high school student that gas dreams of becoming and architect, and study at Cornell. But to get in, he needs a certain SAT score. The same thing happens to his friend Matty, except he wants to go to the University of Maryland to be with his girlfriend. The two plan to steal the test from a nearby lab, but to break in they will need help. They enlist in the help of the daughter of the man who runs the building, Francesca. She and her father don't get along at all, so she is more than happy to help. But Kyle then asks Anna to help them with the plan, even though she is the second best in the class, because not only does he like her, but because when she took the SAT's she complety blanked out, and she doesn't want her parents to be disappointed. That is not all the people because Anna has basketball school jock Desmond join in. He has the ability to go straight to the NBA after high school, but his mother wants him to go to collage, but he knows he'll have trouble on the test. The final member of the group is the drug addict Roy, who is not planning to take the test, but overheard Kyle and Matty talking about the plan, and thinks that it would be fun. He also threatened to tell about their plan, and the others don't want to take that risk. Finally, the big night comes, and the six have to deal with their own various problems, and also the problem about stealing the answers to the tests. "The Perfect Score" was more of a comedy than it was a drama. It is not a movie for everybody. It also did not have only comedy, but it also had heart. It was a pretty good lenght. About fifteen minutes from two hours, but the time goes by fast. I probally would recommend this to somebody who wants to see this movie. To the people who think that it looks dumb, they should see it on video, but not ignore it completly. I was satisfied enough to give it a five star rating, and I enoughed it from beginning to end. ENJOY! Rated PG-13 for language, sexual contest and some drug references.
Movie Review: My kinda movie Summary: 5 StarsOk I will admit I am a 21 year old man that is a sucker for teen movies. I dunno why but I have to see every one that comes out. That being said I wasn't disappointed at all with this one. The stoner guy was obviously the funniest part but it was all good to me. Seeing the swimfan star play someone other than a psycho was also a huge relief. The only thing I didn't like about seeing this is that me and my friend were the only ones in the theater that were over 14! I guess I should have expected that. Anyway go see this if you like goofy comedy, you won't be disappointed.
Movie Review: ahhhhhhh sad Summary: 2 StarsOk this movie was horribly boring. Way to much talking and incredibly embarising to watch because it was really bad. My aunt, uncle, and grandfather attended Cornell and the University of Md. Which is the state I live in was kinda a quiencident but this movie ehhh. Lets just say MADE FOR TV.
Movie Review: scores with performances Summary: 5 StarsThis movie makes no pretence of the fact that it is something of a homage to the Breakfast Club. It does improve upon it's inspiration with some fantastic performances by; the amazingly talented Scarlett Johansson as Francesca who brilliantly breathes life into her "poor little rich girl" character and makes you like her. Erika Christensen as Anna perfectly portrays the "insecure overachiever" with compassion for her character. Leonardo Nam as Roy the libidinous "burnout" genius, comic relief, is both subltle and over the top, often at the same time and always great. They will become huge stars. The rest of the cast is generally quite good as well. This movie is not about the plot,it is character driven and the likable characters make this film work.
Movie Review: fun movie Summary: 4 StarsThis movie combines elements of "Mission Impossible" and "The Breakfast Club", then dumbs it down to appeal to its younger audience. I had fun watching this movie, especially because of the stoned Chinese kid and Scarlett Johansson. The Chinese kid was hilarious and Johansson is a good actor and very easy on the eyes.If you like most high school comedies you'll like this movie. Just don't go into it with too high of expectations.
