Movie Reviews of The Perfect Man

Movie Review: A Cute Family Movie (Mostly directed at tweens, and young teens)
Summary: 4 Stars

Okay, I've never really been a big fan of Hilary Duff, but this movie really changed how I think about her. In this movie, her character, Holly, is very complex, she's guarded, scared of how she feels about others, & never gets what she wants. Hilary plays this role very well, I really admired her for it. The plot is a little silly, but very cute all the same. There are a few jokes in this movie that older kids will appreciate, but might confuse the younger kids. Parents, beware! Overall, it was a very cute, light, and good-hearted movie. I watched it twice, so that must be saying something, since I watch quite a few other movies in my spare time, but I actually liked this one enough to watch it twice. I recommend it for anyone who likes to laugh, and likes family films.

Movie Review: You know what? Hilary Duff is a sweet and beautiful angel
Summary: 5 Stars

It really seems people don't want Hilary Duff to succeed. Well, you know what? She's a beautiful girl and she's talented and lovely and nice and kind-hearted and everyone who thinks she's not is soooo wrong. Hilary Duff gives a sweet, innocent performance in this adoreable romantic comedy. All the actors are good-Heather Locklear is good, Chris Noth is great, and Aria Wallace is cute. The whole movie is amazing and well-acted and funny and cute. Someday one of Miss Duff's films will be a box-office hit, she'll win a Oscar, and then everyone will see what truly amazing girl she really is.

Movie Review: slightly wacky, a little farcical, but entertaining
Summary: 4 Stars

This movie is escapist fare, a light little comedy suitable for summer dvd viewing for the entire family. The mistaken identities, using the present-day vehicles of email and IM, remind me just a little of the plots of renaissance era farces. The story is filled with trendy references that will please teens.

There are deeper themes; the chief one is, don't run away from problems and less than perfect situations. Single mother Jean Hamilton has been doing that for years, providing a life without permanence, her two daughters reluctantly towing behind her. 16 year old Holly turns the tables on her mom by insisting that they take flight from their latest perch in Brooklyn. Seeing Holly's reactions to romantic complications opens Jean's eyes to her own destructive patterns, and there is a happy ending for all.

Movie Review: Really bad movie
Summary: 1 Stars

When are these Disney chicks gonna get a life? Do kids even understand it's close to impossible to getting a decent apartment in NYC? Do they have any idea that moving is really expensive? Can a mom work at a bakery to support 2 kids like that? Obviously Hilary likes some kid at school and the mom isn't gonna go out with the dad because he dosn't really shine until the end. "Oh yeah by the way, before the credits come on, will you marry me?. And some of this material is from other shows.Did it hurt?" was from a Jimmy Neurton episode on tv. And a bunch of these that go on in this movie seem so familiar it's not even funny. Hilary, get a life. Nobody sees her movies so why still make them? Looks like her singing broke a couple windows...
