Movie Reviews of The Pebble and the Penguin - Family Fun EditionMovie Review: Pearl18pink Boxers "Iradable Agadabudah" 's review Summary: 5 StarsThis is a dorky movie......Hubie is so fat and ugly, and Marina must be blind since she likes him...rokko is half penguin half bird because he flies and has these sickening feathers growing on the side of his head...drake is an idiot...THAT'S WHY I LOVE THIS MOVIE!
Movie Review: oh c'mon!! you can't like this pathetic excuse for a movie! Summary: 1 Starsnow, the only reason i watched this movie was just to make fun of it... corny... and some could see it as a gay porno... the 'villain' of this piece of crap 'story' [...]... which brings me to my next point... you can't tell which penguins are a boy or a girl... hell, you can't tell what sex the main character is... most of the time, i pegged it for a girl, with its big eyelashes and girlish personality... and the saying 'goodness glaciers' doesn't help its case at all... it just makes the movie more gay... the only plot in this story is the storms, which lasted less than several minutes... tim currey must've gotten drunk and was dared to do this movie... when the 'villain,' drake, laughs, [...] i mean, maybe it would be better to watch if i was smoking some marajuana, but i don't possess any... but that might not even help its case... overall, this movie sucked, as did the dialogue, the plot, the... 'schemes?'(i think they could be considered schemes)... the songs... the animation... i mean, c'mon... during that 'good ship misery' song, the picture freeze-framed several times... how lazy can you get?... please, watch at your own risk... even a young child can see past the corniness of this flick... AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!... AVOID AVOID AVOID!!... unless, of course, you're either retarded or really in need of something to laugh hysterically at... but it's not the, ahem, 'comedy' of this film... it's the stupidity and poorness of it all... if you're looking for a gay time, then by all means, watch this personal nightmarish piece of crap...(the characters are so bad, it's scary and humorous at times)
Movie Review: Entertaining and with worthwhile messages Summary: 5 StarsWhy is it that less than buff guys (especially when made over by Carson Kressley) get the girls? Maybe because the buff penguins regularly threaten to feed the girl, one Marina Penguin, to the sharks or leave her to be ostracized by penguin society (much like we often treat single people) if she doesn't marry one Drake before sunset. How romantic. Meanwhile, Hubie, Marina's milquetoast love, goes through fire and ice to bring her a courtship pebble. Reality check guys: That's romance. And learning to fight for the girl doesn't hurt. The allegories to human behavior make us realize how fundamental our most powerful emotions are. Yes, it's silly, yes, the animation has elements of SECRET OF NIMH (and that's a plus), yes, it wanders, but kids enjoy it and adults can sit through it. It's a sweet story. It's all about the story...and the penguin.
Movie Review: A good movie Summary: 4 StarsI remember this movie scaried the crap out of me. I recomend This for 9 and older. There are some parts that will be to scare for kids to handle. It about this penguin mande Hubby who is try to appress Morgania a beautiful female penguin. He is thrown from anartic by drake and evil penguin. Who is ver musucular looks like he was gentical combined with arnold Swarsenager. He teams up with rocko a rock hopper on aquest to return to anartica.
Movie Review: Far from an animated classic Summary: 1 StarsI really don't know what other people see in this movie. I must some how be seeing another "Pebble and the Penguin" because whenever I come across this movie I find myself disgusted with every aspect of it.The animation is far from great, even for the time this film was released. By theatrical standards, the quality is comparable to the most mediocre of Saturday morning cartoons. This is especially true with the opening shot with the ice falling from glaciers and disappearing in thin air. The main character, even for an underdog, is REALLY unlikeable. I had a hard time at first figuring out whether they were a guy or a girl! Finding out it was voiced by Martin Short didn't help either. The only way I can figure this answer is the fact the character is attracted to girls, but that doesn't say much. Plus, the villain is laughable. You might say that's OK for a kid's movie, but you can't expect me to care for the hero when his opponent doesn't seem too threatening. The guy has two huge pecs that suggest he defeats his oppoents by crushing their head in the middle of his chest. He has a very thin lower body though, suggesting weak legs under a heavy top. You have to wonder why Hubie didn't kick him in the ankle 5 minutes in. Finally, this movie has the most awful songs in the history of corny cartoon soundtracks. They were most likely written by Elton John...'s brother...'s cousin...'s friend. The only decent one was the "Good Ship Misery" but THAT'S stretching it. Even after ten seconds that song stops being catchy. Avoid this movie. And no, don't even show it to your kids. It will teach them bad things about animation, like adding vomit-inducing songs is OK.
