Movie Reviews of The PassengerMovie Review: A true masterpiece, transfer top notch Summary: 5 Stars
Its a picture filled with style and color and sunlight. Nicholson is at his best here, his stardom being firmly established after The Last Detail and Chinatown(only Mc Murphy in Cuckoo`s Nest awaited him)And Maria Schneider will likely make you fall in love with her, even if it is just a movie.(She should have become a major Star with this performance,in the likes of Loren or Cardinale or Bardot)No, this is not an easy picture, and to all you film buffs out there,Sally is Mrs Robertson, and Sally is Maria..I think...and dig that ending!
Movie Review: The Best Philosophical Movie of the Past Century Summary: 5 Stars
"The Passenger" is the best philosophical movie of the past century directed by an outstanding Italian movie-maker Michelangelo Antonioni. For the first time I saw "The Passenger" in 1975. Second time I saw it 20 years later (rented a VHS in Blockbuster) and still remembered every moment of the movie. In this almost unknown to the American audience "semi-European" movie great Jack Nicholson delivers his best career performance. I'm glad that finally in May '06 we will get this Art on DVD. The movie creators deserved more than five stars.
Movie Review: One of those films that gets better with the second view. Summary: 5 Stars
This is the second film i have seen from Michelangelo Antonioni, one of the most complex yet at the same time more accomplished directors of all time. This is one of those films full of details and meanings, that you just can't get the complete picture the first time you see it. And thats the beauty of it. Also it has great performances, cinematography and great script. Highly recommended.
Movie Review: A CRIME THAT THIS MOVIE IS NOT ON DVD Summary: 5 Stars
This BEAUTIFUL film, about alienation, life in the modern age, and [very timely] trying to function in an alien culture we sinply do not understand.. along with BLOW UP, deserves to be released on DVD. Why has Antonionni been relegated to obscurity? These magnificent films deserve the full restoration treatment. Film lovers everywhere derserve these treasures
