Movie Reviews of The Outsider

Movie Review: The Outsider - The Ultimate Chick Flick!
Summary: 5 Stars

Yes, this movie reminded me of "Witness" and "Angel and the Badman" along with many other westerns. There's not a lot of orignal stuff here. BUT...this is the story of every good woman's secret fantasy - to save (both physically and spiritally) a handsome bad boy with her love. While Naomi Watts is a natural beauty and does a nice job here, this is not her movie. This movie belongs to Tim Daly. I would never have believed that the uptight boy-next-door cutie from "Wings" could have played the world-weary gunslinger so convincingly. If the devil himself were to come to earth to seduce a woman, he would be Tim Daly as Johnny Gault. Tall, dark, handsome and smokin' hot! Men should skip this movie and leave it for the women. Any girl who ever dreamed about a pre-"Brokeback Mountain" cowboy should watch this movie - you won't be able to take your eyes off Tim Daly!

Movie Review: Bible vs. Bullets
Summary: 5 Stars

This movie is a beautiful combination of what we were taught in Sunday
School vs. the real life problems we deal with everyday in one way or another. The struggle with good vs. evil goes on everyday and it is how we deal with these struggles that separates us. Some are weak, and some are strong against the winds of adversity that blow everyday. My lessons have always taught me to meet trouble head-on. This means not to step aside and go around trouble because it will always return to take another bite out of you. In short, always meet force with force and kindness with kindness. Always deal fairly with everyone including your enemies except in a fight. There is no such thing as a fair fight as most of us have already discovered in one way or the other. When right is done. Everyone sees it and knows it. The Good rejoice and the Bad fear.!!

Movie Review: You will love this movie!
Summary: 5 Stars

I had never heard of Tim Daly before The Outsider. But he is absolutely smoldering in this movie and is definately the reason to watch it again and again. You may think I'm overstating his charisma, but wait until you see him in this film!

This movie is very romantic and has only a few gunfight scenes in it. There are even a few laughs in the story. One of the best scenes is where Tim Daly bursts into a barn with both his guns pointed....at sheep!
Naomi Watts is terrific as the Amish widow who falls in love with Tim Daly's character. She really does look "plain" in this movie, but she comes across very realistically. Both actors did a great job.
So, what are you waiting for? Go buy the movie. You'll want to see it again and again.

Movie Review: Worth it.
Summary: 5 Stars

At eleven dollars The Outsider is certainly worth every penny. If you like romances where opposites attract (is there any other kind in Hollywood?) then this movie is for you. The story isn't very complicated -or original, but the way it plays out makes for a very entertaining 119 minutes. Tim Daly never looked better. His boyishly winsome face has matured into one of a rugged, devilishly handsome man with more than a wicked glint in his eyes. Naomi Watts (a great actress), plays Rebecca with a quiet, conflicted soul. I like the movie better than the novel, only because it seems more focused. Rebecca is truly at odds with her beliefs and her attraction to this mysterious man, whereas in the book she seems almost instantly drawn to him. Love this movie.

Movie Review: western with a heart
Summary: 5 Stars

I stumbled onto this on showtime, I missed the first two minutes, was ready to change channels when here was Tim Daly looking different than I had ever seen him, I stuck with it and I am glad I did, sure the plot was predictable, but getting there was interesting. A very good preformance by Naomi Watts and the best ever for Daly. The struggle between a very committed religious life and a gun slinger is the axis of the movie and the love of God and the two different life styles. The music and the photography is wonderful. The pace of this movie is slow but I think life was about that speed then. A very touching movie and "maybe" the the family could enjoy.
