Having been a lover of Westerns all of my life I have found that if Hollywood would go back to the basic such as a good honest story line as in Outlaw Josey Wales where its good against evil the world might be a better place to live and the public wouldn't be pleged with the trash that's out there now.I'm thankful for Clint Eastwood he I think is the last hope in a America for film greatness. thanks pardner. The Outlaw Josey Wales is the best western movie I have ever seen. And that includes the great standards like Shane and others. Clint Eastwood gives an unforgetable and powerful performance as a Confederate fighter whose family is killed by renegade Union soldiers and his fight to get revenge. I highly recommend this movie...if you like stories of the old west, you will love this movie.Movie Review: DVD purchase

What can I say. I've owned this on every medium that it's ever been recorded on, and it gets better every time the technology improves. This is not only one of the best westerns ever filmed, it's also the best movie Clint Eastwood ever starred in.
You can't go wrong with this movie, even if you're not a fan of westerns.
