Movie Review: Great Movie!!
Summary: 5 Stars
Eastwood's best movie and my favorite by him. A must see. I particularly like the beginning of the movie which is loosely based on what really happened to Jesse James. James, too, was bushwacked by the "honorable" yanks after surrendering on the promise of amnesty. I was particularly glad to see that Eastwood didn't PC the truth about the Redlegs and other such "honorable" Union troops (i.e., Sherman). Sorry if the truth touched a nerve, Ironyvalue...the movie tells a lot of truth and is entertaining in the process.Movie Review: One of Clint Eastwood's best action movies

"The Outlaw Josey Wales" gets 4-bones, the highest possible
rating in the "VideoHound's Golden Movie Retriever" book of
reviews. So it's up there in the same rarified atmosphere as
is Casablanca.
Although a little longer than most movies, it's rich
combination of action and pathos holds your interst. The last
scenes involving Josey's face off with indian chief Ten Bears
are vintage Eastwood.

If you mix this movie with High Plains drifter you'd have The Crow. I love these revenge movies, in a time where a decent man rarely gets a good turn. Clint Eastwood at his best....as always....have to love em. Just the way he talks to people makes the movie, everyone wishes they could have such an awesome vocabulary when its needed the most. Every one from the age 25-40 grew up worshiping Clint.......he's the man!Movie Review: Enjoyable night of action

The pace of the action is good. The dialogue has some humor and does not get in the way of the story telling or the scenes of gun fights. The story of betrayal and retribution is worth watching again and again. The gunning down of the redlegs (villians) by the outlaw Josey Wales (hero) will have you cheering for more. This is an enjoyable action film. Be sure to have hot, fresh popcorn available.Movie Review: Possibly the best western of all time.

A true classic and one of Clint Eastwood's best western films, "The Outlaw Josey Wales" is truly an essential must-have in any Clint Eastwood or Western collection. Entertaining from start to finish with just enough sentiment to make it a classic, this is one of my favorite films despite the thankfully brief bits of dialog from Sondra Locke.
