Movie Reviews of The Other Side of Heaven

Movie Review: A very inspiring movie!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was born and raised on Borneo Island, much like Tonga. I appreciate such movie like this because, thanks to missionaries like Groberg, a lot of people including my greatgrandparents were saved and became Christians. There is really no gift greater than salvation. Thousands of children got to attend missionary schools, again, thanks to missionaries like Groberg. Groberg is one of the many missionaries who, for centuries, had travelled millions of miles to spread the Word of God and saving people's lives. I thank the people who were responsible for making this movie. It is so rare to see this type of family movies made these days where most others glorify violence and sex...

Movie Review: Heartfelt Drama
Summary: 5 Stars

I was part of an exclusive group of "non Mormon" viewers to a sneak preview of this movie. When I understood it was about a LDS elder sent to Tonga on a mission, I thought perhaps this would be a preachy movie. I was surprised and delighted to see the meassage wasn't overbearing at all, but rather enlightening. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing a wholesome, clean, entertaining feature presentation for once. It just goes to show you that a movie with suspense, a message, and entertainment value can be made without violence, sex or obscene language.

I wholly recommend this movie to all Christian or non-Christians alike, as it is for anyone to enjoy - and you will !

Movie Review: An Incredible Journey
Summary: 5 Stars

Please, Please, Please...this is not the forum for Mormon Bashing! This movie is about a young man serving a mission...who just happens to be Mormon. He could've been from any other faith and the story would have equal impact. It is a moving, wonderful tale of a young man's journey into a culture he was unfamilior with, but embraced with all of his soul at the end of his mission. It is a wonderful story of faith, strength and standing up for what you believe. It is a good story for anyone who believes in a God above. The focus should be on the story, not on his religion. It is an inspirational tale for all!

Movie Review: The Other Side of Heaven
Summary: 5 Stars

This was a wonderful move. I am so happy I had the opportunity to see it and I can't wait for the video to come out so I can enjoy it again and again. It was visually stunning, theologically correct and well acted and presented. I think that Mormons will appreciate it a little more than non-members, but that shouldn't stop anyone from enjoying this film. It appeals to the nobility of spirit in each of us. Elder Groberg is a marvelous example of that spirit, and I loved his book too.

God bless him for living his gospel and practicing what he preaches.

Movie Review: A Rarity!
Summary: 5 Stars

Wow. It's really nice to see something different. It's not only a good movie but it's also a realistic movie about good - a real rarity. As a true story it can't be mocked without bias, yet it's bound to anger the hedonistic and enrage the anti-Mormon crowd.

I thought the acting was great and the supporting cast was particularly strong. It's amazing that it was made with a budget of only 7 million. As such it's sure to make a profit and hopefully we'll see more family movies of this quality. I saw it and then enthusiastically took my whole family to see it
