Movie Reviews of The Omega Man [Blu-ray]Movie Review: An outstanding 70's Sci-fi classic! Summary: 5 Stars
In post-apocalyptic 1976 after 2 years of biological warfare has plagued the nation leaving nearly a corpse. Los Angeles has became desserted with only one man named Dr. Robert Neville (Charlton Heston) thought he was the last man alive, he has a wonderful apartment of his own downtown with all the luxery he can have. During the daytime, he has all the fun he wants but he stays inside at night because there are a race of mutanted vampire-zombie creatures called "The Family" ran by Matthais (Anthony Zerbe) whom all been hunting him down every night while Robert kills them. One day, he finds out he's not the only normal person around as he meets lovely Lisa (Rosalind Cash) and a pack of other normals who defend themselves as he must try to find a cure to rebuild the world.
A realistic and unique apocalyptic Sci-fi horror action thriller based on the beloved story "I Am Legend" from Richard Matheson. Sure they changed some parts of the part but who cares, i always adored this movie since i was a teen in the 90's and it's one of my favorite movies of the Sci-fi, vampire and zombie subgenres. The performances are just outstanding with Heston doing one of the best roles he's ever done in his career, it's also one of the first movies to feature an interracial love story to it. This is an action-packed and thrilling rollercoaster ride about humanity and how can it be saved, that's one of the themes to the novella with this version plus 1964's "Last Man on Earth" and 2007's "I Am Legend
This Blu-Ray offers a very good transfer i gotta say with terrific sound quality, there is a few extras like introduction with featurette and trailer.
