Movie Review: Great DVD for 2007 Season Review
Summary: 5 Stars
Being a fan of Formula 1 and living in the US where it is really hard to find F1 related things, it is nice that Amazon carries these DVD's. I really like the quality and contents of this DVD. To be able to rewatch the season when Kimi wins the Driver's Championship for the first time is really nice as well. I look forward to the 2008 Season DVD.Movie Review: One of the most exciting seasons!

Spy saga, rookie sensation, Shumacher-less, betrayal, and a new king crowned. That is the story of the 2007 Formula 1 season. This dvd packs it all in. The 2007 review comes on 2 disc, with the season on one and extras on another. This is fantastic as the quality is much improved over previous years where they compressed it all on one disc. Much more enjoyable.
In 2007, Fernando Alonso switched over to Mclaren after winning back to back titles with Renault, and Kimi Raikkonen replaced Shumacher at Ferrari. The Mclaren car seemed to be the one to beat that year, and with Fernando helping to develop it, it seemed like a potent unbeatable combination.
Then Lewis Hamilton burst onto the scene. With the first few races in, everyone took notice. This guy was greatness in the making and actually had the tenacity to fight a double world champion in his own team in his rookie year. Fernando became bitter, and demanded priority, and when he didn't get it, turned his back on Mercedes. The spy scandal was already in motion at this point, but a bitter Fernando helped push it further (as media reports).
In the end....Mclaren were fined $100 million and stripped of all constructors points. Lewis Hamilton had the championship in the bag with a nice lead going into the last 2 races, but made rookie mistakes which cost him the title. In the end...the Iceman attacked silently and won the championship BY ONE POINT in the final race.
This season had it all, and this dvd retells the tale perfectly. If you did not see the 2007 season, and watching this for the first time, do a little background search on the season to get further in depth detail about the scandal that year. A must for any F1 fan!

Thanks to a heavy workload and travel, I basically missed the 07 F1 season. I was hoping to just watch this DVD and live the excitement of the season. That is exactly what I got! And my goodness what a season it was!
Not only does the DVD cover highlights of practice, qualifying and race but also takes time to interview drivers, team leads, engineers and even throws in some stuff about the McLaren spying scandal.
The video quality, although not great, is fine. The narration is great and to the point. The choice of camera angles is very good. The editing is excellent. All in all, I really felt like I was living the whole season in few hours. I've watched this thing many, many times and just can't get enough.
If you are looking for a great season review both on and off the track, go ahead and buy this DVD and it will keep spinning in your player for a very long time.
