Movie Reviews of The Office: Season TwoMovie Review: Hilariously Hilarious!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
One word.....WOW.
For those who have already watched the show...How long has it been since an incredibly funny comedie aired on tv? This show is gold!
For those who have not watched it yet.... WATCH IT!!!
When watching The Office, one has to pay close attention to the small details, for example: Micheal's fake smiles or his little uncomfortable embarrassements; even Dwight's funny faces or Jim's careless expressions. There lies the true comedie of The Office.
I can honestly not think of any flaw within the show. Every character is lovable in their own ways, it is non-stop comedie, and hey... for you love story fans, the office even has its share of love affairs and crushes.
A great show for people of all ages and one of the best, if not the best, comedies on television right now.
If i could i would give this show all the stars in the world, but i can only go as high as 5 STARS*****
Movie Review: Found its stride Summary: 5 Stars
My family and I just finished watching the last episode of Season 2 last night and are hoping the USPS delivers Season 3 today so we don't have to wait!
While we all enjoyed Season 1, everything really comes together in this second season. Everyone (regardless of how small or large the part) has really honed in on what their character is about and, in particular, the character of Michael Scott (played by Steve Carrell) has developed well. It is to the point that I see him as a whole person rather than just an obnoxious boss. Dwight continues to be Dwight and is absolutely hilarious. Jim and Pam keep you guessing and they couldn't have found better actors to play those two characters.
This is definitely a comedy that appeals more to the intellect versus relying on slapstick or crude humor at every opportunity.
Great jokes, great casting, wonderful series!
Movie Review: Controversial opinion: Season 2 has surpassed the UK version Summary: 5 Stars
I know I'll probably get stoned to death by british people for saying that, but it is the truth. I watched and loved the UK Office when it came out and hated the US version during its early episodes (especially the first that was identical to the first UK episode).
However, as great as the UK office could be, it was very uneven and had some flaws, mainly in casting, that the US version has fixed.
I'd say the US office, during the second season, has a better cast in every role except for David Brent/Micheal Scott, Jim/Tim and Gareth/Dwight. The british Tim gets a slight edge for me, but the other pairs are really pretty equal. Steve Carell is a different boss than David Brent, but in a good way.
This show provided lovers of well-written smart comedy some consolation after the loss of Arrested Development.
Great stuff.
Movie Review: DVD box set definitely worth the price Summary: 5 Stars
Not only is this show one of the funniest and well-written shows on television, the Season 2 box set has lots of extras that make it worth buying. I know that sometimes it seems like buying TV shows might not be worth it because they will eventually be re-run or go into syndication, but this DVD set only adds to the enjoyment of the world of Dunder-Mifflin. All of the webepisodes are there, the fake PSAs, and the commentaries. But the best part has to be the deleted scenes, which not only add to the back story on the show (the Tobey-Jim connection, the Jim wedding date toast), but are just as funny as the material that makes the show. My students love this show, my parents love this show, and after checking out most of the Season 2 DVD, I am even more excited to see the Season 3 premiere than I was after that fantastically executed casino night!
Movie Review: I Wish I worked There Summary: 5 Stars
Season 2 of the Office continues the adventures of Dundler Mifflin, a paper company with an off-the-wall manager, Michael, played by the famous Steve Carrell, known for his role in the hilarious comedy, "40-Year-Old Virgin." Unlike the 1st season, Season 2 is 4 discs and a full season run of over 20 episodes. Where Season 1 of The Office felt like it was there only to introduce the core characters, Season 2 actually expands the world and what is going on in it. It also has a huge cliff hanger ending that makes you wish Season 3 had started. Dwight and Jim of course have there battles against each other, and the relationship between Jim and Pam continues in the weird way it has always been like. Overall, if you enjoyed Season 1 you'll love Season 2 of "The Office," it is one of my favorite comedy TV shows currently being aired.
