Movie Reviews of The Odd Couple

Movie Review: A cult funny movie !
Summary: 5 Stars

Consider this film among the greatest comedies ever made and to me , the second best after Some like it hot . Lemmon and Matthau make an unbeatable couple . Two grumpy exmarrieds who has taken up housekeeping together in New York .
But after jus few hours Matthau will know the real nature of his neurotic friend Lemmon . The obsessive sense of pulchritude of Lemmon and the indifference of Matthau about this little detail will be one of the multiple of the laughable situations all along the film .
Magnificent.

Movie Review: The Odd Couple
Summary: 5 Stars

Based on Neil Simon's award-winning Broadway play, "The Odd Couple" was the second and best pairing of real-life buddies Lemmon and Matthau, and spawned a long-running TV series. The inspired premise of a platonic, male love/hate relationship is best realized in this, the original film, with Lemmon's neurotic, melancholy Felix counter-balanced by Matthau's Oscar, a casual, carefree sportswriter who gives new meaning to the word "slovenly." Don't miss the hilarious scenes with the duo's upstairs neighbors, the Pigeon sisters.

Movie Review: This film breaks boundaries!! It's classic!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm 28 now and first saw this in 1996, I was dying with laughter! Walter Matthau is excellent, one of the funniest if not THE funniest films I've ever seen! If it's not funny to you you're just not paying attention to whats going on. My dad who showed me this is so happy that his son (me) who listens to rap and studies mid east studies extremely (both which bug him)lol, loves this film! There's a part 2 that came out about 30 yrs later with both Walter and Jack which was also great but not as good...

Movie Review: I didn't expect to laugh this hard
Summary: 5 Stars

Bless the libraries that spend their dvd funds on great things like this movie and less on the dumb stuff. I knew the names of both the tv series and the originator, Neil Simon, so I commited myself to viewing what I expected to be a moderately entertaining film.

Glad I was wrong! I hope Neil Simon is as well known in the psychiatric circles as in the Broadway scene. His analysis of humanity brings to mind the worst in not just those around me but YIPES! Myself as well.

Movie Review: Matthau and Lemmon
Summary: 5 Stars

Move over Martin & Lewis, there's a new team in town and they are packing with comedy and chemistry. Not sense Martin & Lewis has a pair been so magical on screen as Matthau & Lemmon. Although each can hold their own when it comes to acting, putting the two together in a movie was definitely a winning move. Their acting ability and skills are unlimited. From the Odd Couple to the Grumpy/Grumpier Old Men classics, their performances never fails to amuse and entertain.
