Movie Reviews of The Nightmare Before Christmas (Special Edition)Movie Review: 'Tis truly A nightmare Before christmas Summary: 5 StarsAnother one of my friends got this for me as a gift. Again, I was giddy with delight (they all know me so well)! While I thought it odd that Disney would reproduce something that was fairly dark, it was so great to see this movie again, as I hadn't seen it in years. The remaster was wonderful as the colors were more vibrant. I especially loved all the bonus features like Frankenweenie, Vincent and The storyboard to film comparison. I thought the cost was high at first, but when I saw the 3D bust as the cover and all the extras, I realize the cost was quite fair. This is a great buy for followers of this cult classic or anything Tim Burton.
Movie Review: in time for the holidays! Summary: 5 Starsamazing family classic. The video and audio are top notch and although it might lack some extras the digital copy is a nice touch. Highly recommended
Movie Review: A MUST HAVE!!! Summary: 5 StarsThis is my first Blu-Ray purchase and I couldn't be more pleased. This is one of my favorite films, even though I only had it on Laser Disc before this. Will watch this many more times!
Movie Review: Excellent Summary: 5 StarsThis Blu-Ray Disc version of The Nightmare Before Christmas is a must buy for any fan of the film. It has the most amazing picture and sound, along with plenty of extras to go with it. And at about the same price as the DVD, why not go with the Blu-Ray? I highly recommend this product.
Movie Review: Blu-ray brings out detail Summary: 4 StarsOur family has had a copy of this movie on some format or other for a long time, so it was a natural addition to our Blu-ray collection. The high definition is great for this film because it lets you see the detail of the models so much better.
It's also our first experience with the digital copy feature, which I like because the kids can run the movie on the PC without having to fire up the home theatre or handle the disk.
My interest in Danny Elfman's music predates his film scoring career, so I found it fascinating how he worked with Tim Burton to get the songs written before a script actually existed. It's my favorite portion of the bonus features.
