Movie Review: an intelligent yet heart-felt drama

John huston's on location direction, Richard Burton's portrayal of a man at the end of his rope, ava gardner's tough as nails performance - this all leads to one thing - a great movie... From a Tennessee williams play, 'night at the iguana' manages to succeed as a one of a kind gem.. I can't think of anything else like it.. An amazing combination of great script, directing, acting, and casting. Burton at his best with an outstanding performance by Deborah Kerr. Ava Gardner most believable at the hotel owner. Supporting cast was wonderful. A great combination of humor and feelings. Finally got tired of renting, as I seem to watch this every year or two. I had rented this video several times before I knew I had to buy it because of the great and entertaining performances by such a great cast lead by the one and only - Richard Burton. The Night of the Iguana is an excellent drama movie. The story is truly remarkable (from who else but Tennesse Williams), and the performances of Richard Burton, Ava Gardner, Deborah Kerr, as well as Sue Lyon are outstanding.
