Movie Reviews of The Neverending Story

Movie Review: This movie is an original, unlike others who copy each other, its EXCELLENT!
Summary: 5 Stars

I first saw this movie with my son about 15 years ago, and was amazed at the originality of the storyline, cinematography, and fantastic characters. My son just loved the movie and watched it over and over again. I couldn't help but love the movie, and watch it with him, it just always caught my attention. To this day, I still love this movie. Though they have come out with parts two and three, this one is my favorite of them all. And thankfully no other film-makers have tried to copy the idea, because it would flop if they did, you just can't top this story. When my children grow up and have their own, I'll be watching it with my grandchildren too! Jim Henson had a hand in this movie, so understandably, some of the characters are very well done by him. This movie is just a pure classic, and always will be, it cannot be outdone! It's a wonderful fantasy, for children and parents alike.

Movie Review: Almost as good as the third?
Summary: 5 Stars

It has been established that the first was a classic, and the second a fitting sequel... but the third, there are no words to describe it. Information is quite scarce about the thirds existance, but it does exist Believe Me. A search on eBay will find competetive, furious bidding for this scarce "treasure". In fact I'd venture there are no more than seven copies in the world (any living person associated with it may be hoarding copies). I'm one of the "priveledged" few who has gotten to witnessed this train wreck. I actually crossed state lines to attain the "precious" Thing. However, the NES III sequel will quench the cries of anyone who says "I never want it to end." That is the only good purpose it serves. Ironically, one actor, Jack Black survived this movie, he shows great courage to continue in the acting field. I wish the best for him.

Movie Review: The Neverending Story
Summary: 5 Stars

I thought this movie was absolutly amazing...I am an 80's child that grew up on that film...But I have one simple problem with the whole thing...How come in every single review I have read simply hasnt mentioned the evil doer in the film...no one seems to know of his name, or the purpose of his character...The Gamalk...He wasnt a mean wolf or just the bad guy...He is the representation of all of the hopes and dreams of "the people" that were forgotten. He was the "void" of all that "people" wanted and wished for...And I think that his character deserves a little more respect than we have given him...There cant be Fantasy without reality...And I think that the Gamalk was the link between the two as well as Bastian, I sort of view the Gamalk as a part of Bastian as well, Atreyu was the good part of him and the Gamalk was the evil part of him...Does anyone agree with me???

Movie Review: Great Movie
Summary: 5 Stars

I get upset when people give this movie one star just because it actualy has an ending; to me that is really immature :) But anyway, I saw this movie in theaters when it came out and it's my all-time favorite movie. To today's standards the special effects aren't much, but to me the overall story is great. The movie is scary for young children and, being older, It is actualy depressing, but it redeems itself in the end. Of course movies are different than books most of the time, since they are adaptions. The story is neverending because it can be watched again and the book can be read again and again and again. I think this will stay a classic for those who first saw it as children, otherwise, I don't know :) At the very least, the theme song is pretty cool and was even featured in two Dance Dance Revolution games. p.s. Bastian yells out MOONCHILD.

Movie Review: Childhood favorite
Summary: 5 Stars

This was one of my 3 favorite childhood movies (the other 2 being Return to Oz and the Dark Crystal.) Even today, 17 years after the movie's release, it is still timeless and beautiful.
A boy reading a fantasy novel gets involved in the story and finds out that it is only the imagination of a human child that can save the fantasy world from the "Nothing." - a theme that is so wonderfully beautiful and true.
The scenery is beautiful, and in my opinion so much more captivating than the cheesy computer animation that is taking over the film industry now.
Even as a child, and now as an adult, I sat through the whole movie, just to see the Child-like Empress, who is incredibly beautiful. (What ever happened to that actress?)
I invite everyone to take a journey back to childhood.
"Say my name, Bastien, SAY MY NAME!"
