I have not read the book so maybe it is better but I absolutely loved this movie. I thought Kal Penn was phenomenal and I cried as did my wife when his father explains to him what his name means. I really enjoy movies about different cultures and was really blown away by this movie. Highly recommendMovie Review: It did it again!

All I can say is that this is the second time I have seen this movie and the second time it has made me cry. Wow, pretty bad for a 47 year old man, no?

The Namesake I have to say is one of the best I've seen in a long time.I'm sure all women will love this movie and so far the men I've asked to watch the movie also liked it.I'm definately buying more Indian movies.Movie Review: great!

Excellent film. Film covers culture, identity, and parental relationships. Deals truthfully with what it is like to be a person of color growing up in a white world and how many come to terms with ones culture/identity. Excellent tasteful film.
