Movie Review: Could have been better.
Summary: 4 Stars
My kids (Thomas, 6 years, and Saskia, 3 years) both enjoy this film. It gets repeated viewings. The variations to the original movie make it fun and interesting. Ashanti is a good choice as Dorothy (she has a great voice), and I loved the prawn as Toto. The CG for the Wizard are a bit weak, but the kids didn't seem to notice. My wife (not a muppet fan) thought the film was very B-grade. She would rate it 1 or 2 stars!
Overall, in my opinion, a good family film, especially if you like the muppets.

Muppet Wizard of Oz is pretty entertaining and fun for children. Everything evolves with time and so have the muppets. I bought the dvd as part of my muppet collection and my family likes it. It's not as bad as people are saying, so don't think that you will be greatly dissappointed. It's musical and funny and all around fun for children and adults. Is it as good as the great muppet caper or muppets take manhattan? Maybe, maybe not. But, it is worth owning if you are a die hard muppet fan.Movie Review: Better than expected

I had low expectations of this film based on seeing previews showing Ashanti's midriff. However, the modernized theme was not too far off, the songs were catchy and Ashanti's vocals were actually great. My melodic child has been signing the songs around the house and loves this DVD as much (if not more) than The Wiz.Movie Review: Come on, people

i bought this after my son saw the original wizard of oz on tv. i didn't want to spend the 24$ on the real one. this was definitely a good second choice.... it was cute and a well made re-make of the movie.
