Movie Review: One of Disney's sophisticated movies
Summary: 5 Stars
When I was a little girl - I didn't fully appreciate this film as much as I do now. The reason for doing so was that, I loved the more romantic & old fashioned life action movies, that Disney is well known for, such as such as "Pollyanna" & "Summer Magic". But over the years, I have grown fond of this movie and now it is one of my very favourite Disney movies to watch. Unfortunately, I have not yet read the novel on which the movie is based on, so all I can remark on is the film itself. The locations used for the film are exotic and the music used in the film fits both the tone of the movie and adds to the Greek atmosphere, although the title song "The Moon Spinners" used at the beginning of the film could be viewed as a bit much. All of the actors are superb in their respective roles; including Hayley Mills; Peter MeEnery; and Eli Wallach (who is, at times, unnerving in his role as the villian Stratos). This is definitely a film for not only Disney fans, but for anyone who loves a good romantic mystery.Movie Review: A great film no matter what the format!

I keep reading reviews of new and old films and the one constant complaint is no widescreen editions- Can someone tell me if they recall seeing the Moon-Spinners on the Wonderful World of Disney? Was it in widescreen??? NO!!!! And who cares... when I saw the DVD edition, which I by the way purchased, I was brought back to a kinder and gentler time when the excitement of the week was watching a movie on the Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday night. I could recall all the fun I had seeing this film for the first time as a pre-teen. I think we are all too hung up on technology and rather than focus on the inadequacies why not look at the fun we can once again have watching the incredible Hayley Mills! I am sorry, but we watched movies for years on TV and never worried about what was cut off- So why not just enjoy seeing this entertaining turn by Hayley!Movie Review: Now I want to go to Crete and have an adventure!!!!

The Moon-Spinners has to be one of my favorite movies of all time. Hayley Mills is the all-american girl....err...except for the fact that she's English (it makes no sense, but it is completely true). She gives a genuine performance and most girls can relate to her. I will not deny that this movie is completely cheesy, but it is all in the best way. This movie has everything; adventure, romance, drama, mystery, and is set in the beautiful isle of Crete. The love story is unique and original and will make you smile all over. This movie was acclaimed for being Hayley Mill's first onscreen kiss and I have to admit that it's a good one. I love how this movie embodies the essence of crete, with the beautiful beaches and little villages. I recommend this movie to people of all ages.Movie Review: Disney Romance and Adventure

My brother and I were talking one day about old movies we'd seen when were kids and The Moon-Spinners with Hayley Mills, Eli Wallach, Peter McEnery, Pola Negri popped up.
We both agreed it was one we remembered well. So later I got on line to see if I might find it and I did. Since it arrived I have shared it with my adult children and they were equally enchanted by its magic. So much of what is produced today for young audiences is trash. This however is a true jewel. All one has to do is mention Hayley Mills and you know its gonna shine. Buy this movie and do yourself a favor, you deserve a break today.
Movie Review: Moon Spinners

I have not seen this movie since I was a young teenager. I found that I forgot the biggest part of the plot. Happily, it was like watching the movie for the first time.
I have been a Haley Mills fan since my pre-teenage years to this date. For those who are not familiar with Haley MIlls and her movie credits I strongly recomend renting/buying her movies starting with Pollyanna. The viewer will not be disappointed I'm sure.
