Movie Reviews of The Miracle WorkerMovie Review: Silence is golden Summary: 5 Stars
Enough praise can't be given to this film. To me, the utterly striking performances of Patty Duke and Anne Bancroft are brought to a climax in the infamous dining room scene where Annie Sullivan attempts to teach Helen table manners above the protests of the family: "She is accustomed to eating off all our plates", Mrs. Keller says. Once everyone else has left the room, not a word is uttered. I don't know how long the scene lasts, but I have never been so mesmerized and totally absorbed in a scene in my life. The skill of the actresses in so successfully telling that part of the story without speaking is consummate.
Movie Review: the miracle worker Summary: 5 Stars
The movie was quite good however when I ordered the video I was sent not one but two copies of the video. I received one copy and two days later a second copy showed up at my doorstep. I was charged twice for the video and have no idea how to get credit and where to return the second video I received. I was very dissapointed and now have strong reservations about further business with Amazon. I don't know if there is someone I can call or and address to return the video. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Movie Review: The Miracle Worker Summary: 5 Stars
An absolute CLASSIC! Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke gave THE performance of their lives. I watched this movie as a child and became an instant fan of these two women (I'm now 52yrs!). Most importantly, I learned and became aware of the inspirational and incomparable, Helen Keller. Watch the movie, read the book. Feel and experience for yourself the very moment that changed Helen's life forever. Laugh, cry, and rejoice with her family ... and don't forget to hug a great teacher any chance you get!
Movie Review: genious Summary: 5 Stars
There's so many bad children actors out there, that it's so refreshing to see Patty Duke in this film. The character she plays would be a challenge for many accomplished adult actors, but Patty was something special from the start. Together with Bancroft(who is also superb), they truly shine. Parents, turn off the garbage that is usually pouring into your kids brains from the television, and pop this delightful story into your DVD player Now!!!
Movie Review: Listen - Look Here!! Summary: 5 Stars
I'm sure I can't imagine no sight nor sound. This is a tribute to the teacher and the student. The actors and the real-life people. This is a very powerful movie. I watched Patty Duke's eyes very carefully, what emotion. I hadn't realized how physical their relationship was. I would like to see a documentary on the making of The Miracle Worker. I am moved to investigate Helen Keller's life and learn more about her. What an inspiration!
