Movie Reviews of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Vol. 4

Movie Review: It's over...
Summary: 5 Stars

I can't stop but think that this wonderful show is done! The series has a special place in my memories and I am happy to hear that the Japanese agree with that settlement and will be making another 'season' soon!

This is the final disc of this magnificent show and I tell you all to grab the first three with this one in a instant. Suzumiya Haruhi COMMANDS IT!!!

Movie Review: Why accept the original statement when we can twist it ignorantly?
Summary: 1 Stars

Don't let the star rating fool you. I love Haruhi, I think it's one of the best series to grace a stale anime scene in quite a while. However, I don't like America's inability to keep this show in its original format.
The DVDs play out this entire series in order, which was not really meant to happen, the original broadcast in Japan was played out of order to give the series a more broken but interesting feel. It's one of the things that made the show great, but America screwed it up by offering us the series in a linear fashion. Sad, considering the series climax is in friggin episode 7.
If you buy these DVDs, buy them all at once, and research how the show was meant to be presented. It will make the series infinitely better.
Screw corporate incompetence.

Movie Review: The disappointment of Haruhi
Summary: 3 Stars

I loved all the other volumes. I was expecting, in the last volume, Haruhi to find out she was the key to it all, or have more of an explaination as to the purpose of Yuki and the others. But all i got was boring school life and what seemed to be filler episodes. I'm sad to say this volume let me down.

Movie Review: well made
Summary: 5 Stars

its a good anime, even if off order and doesn't show much of the best ending for this season,of coarse i won't coun't that against it,becouse there is ganna be a season two, that will have more about haruhi, and the others, but all together, its a good anime, with an interesting, although strange story

Movie Review: Bye bee Haruhi
Summary: 5 Stars

Well this is it, is the last volume of this amazing series, then again the REAL ending is in the 2nd volume but you may already know that.

This volume offers Haruhi's concert "live Alive", the fight of the SOS Brigade against the geeks in "The Day of Sagittarius" and "Someday in the Rain".

I have to say I was a bit disappointed because they didn't explain what happened in the future three years from now, who sent Yuki and Ry?ko, not enough of Tsuruya, no ghosts nor aliens and worst Haruhi never knew that she has the ability to change reality.

What really saved the series was the superb and well rendered animation, don't get me wrong I enjoyed each episode but I was expecting more than just regular school activities and playing detective with nothing to offer.

A BIG TEASER FROM THIS DVD (and from me) is that Kadokawa Pictures USA will bring LUCKY STAR to America, yes, in the extras there is this special teaser where they show part of the 16th episode where Konata ( the main character) plays Haruhi, but this series may come out in the next summer so is a long wait.

The last three episodes are great, "The Day of Sagittarius" is the best of the three, this one shows what I was expecting from the series. Haruhi offered good times, but because of the chronological order of the DVDs there was not enough character development, for that reason "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" earns a solid 4 out of 5.
