Movie Reviews of The MechanicMovie Review: He's a shooter,a hitman so? So!....There we are. Summary: 5 Stars
I am a huge Charles Bronson fan, just love him
and have seen most of his films from the great machine
gun kelly thru the messenger of death(OH!NO!)and can say without
a doubt this is his masterpiece! From the very start michael
winner shows the camera to the sky than all of a sudden
the man takes up the full frame with his coolness and jerry
fielding's great score you know your in for a ride. There is so
much to this movie it's short but not too short has great
action for the time (1972)jan michael vincent is perfect for
the kid.jerry fielding's score is to the point(love that piano)
and michael winners directing subpurb, but it's the man who
makes this movie, he is so calm when he kills Keenan Wynn and
the way he studies his victims to classical music it just
screams BRONSON!!!Also from the man are these great flicks
ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST-RIDER ON THE RAIN-DEATH WISH
FAREWELL FRIEND-HARD TIMES-VALLACHI PAPERS-MR.MAJESTYK
VIOLENT CITY-DIRTY DOZEN-RED SUN-THE EVIL THAT MEN DO &
THE INDIAN RUNNER- and of course FROM NOON TILL THREE(Bronson &
Jill Ireland's personal fav. it is a wonderful film) so buy them now from AMAZON or Arthur Bishop just might have a pic.
of Review: Killer Movie!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Bronson had one of the most interesting careers in all of Hollywood, but you never hear it mentioned. Starting out in inumerable 'B' movies of the cusp of the forties and into the fifties and moving on to villiany in 'A' movies by the late fifties and through the mid sixties, Bronson had been a familiar face to audiences for twenty years culminating in The Dirty Dozen in 1967,his first semi-sympathetic role. Then he went to Europe and made a series of hugely successful tough guy movies, became an International Star and came back to Hollywood for twenty years of definitive headlining tough guy roles that paved the way for Willis, Schwartzzenneger (never CAN spell that), Van-Damne and the host of other macho-men parading through our cineplexes to the present day. He was quiet, soft-spoken, and old school. He was loved by his onset crews (which says more than any critics of his movies) and he never acted like a star. In short, while lots of pretenders get credited, he was the last true product of the Hollywood Studio system, only he survived to achieve greater heights under the new regime. This is one of his best films. It sums up his character on film as few roles ever did. Jan-Michael Vincent plays a perfect foil for the times and the ending still gets me. It kind of echoes the way he snuck back up on Hollywood.
Movie Review: 70'S OLD SCHOOL ACTION!!!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This movie was better than I expected! I first though that the movie would be lame because of the title but I saw it and now is one of the best action movies I ever seen in the 70's along with the first three movies of Dirty Harry, Enter the Dragon, Star Wars, Mad Max and The Loosers.
There is to much blah, blah, blah at times but you can just press the fast foward button anytime you want! The action scenes were GREAT, there is a long motorcycle chase with stunts and all, big explotions, car chase, grenades, gun shooting and more!!!!!! The begining and the end of the movie where the most memorable scenes.
P.S: This movie have more action than Death Wish, but Death Wish is the best movie of Charles Bronson because he looks SOOO COOL dressing all black in the dark streets of New York and the movie have a better concept.
ADIOS!
Movie Review: The Whole Ball Of Wax Summary: 5 Stars
You'd better hope and pray that your picture doesn't end up in Arthur Bishop's mailbox, boys and girls! That slick hitman, Bishop is played to the hilt by none other than Charles Bronson! You already knew that, but I had to say it regardless. This is one of his best performances right up there with his performance in Death Wish and The Great Escape. Like Death Wish, he's the criminal that we're all rootin' for, and he carries this movie flawlessly to the end. Even the most diehard Bronson hater(if there are any-and if there is, shame on you!) will dig this movie if you like action films. I really can't think of alot more to say about the film, other than it's worth it for the great price or at least a rental for crying out loud!
Movie Review: What a Movie! Summary: 5 Stars
I've been waiting to get this movie on DVD for a long time. Thanks to MGM for bringing it out. Today when I found it on the shelf at the HMV store in Hong Kong, I forgot where I was & screamed out.......This has gotta be the best of Charles Bronson. This is a must see classic by good old Charlie. A tongue in cheek performance by master of action movies & with an excellent ending. Jan-Michael Vincent also is good in this one. It's quite unfortunate that there's no subtitles on this DVD. As for the picture quality, I should say that it's ok. Go for it guys, rent it or buy it & enjoy yourselves.
