Movie Reviews of The Man From Snowy RiverMovie Review: He's not a lad, brother! HE'S A MAN! Summary: 5 Stars
This movie KNOCKED ME OUT!
One of my favorite films of all time! I first saw it when I was stationed at Clark Air Base in the Philippines. This is the very first movie I ever rented. It was a boot-leg copy, of course. But I was glued to the set. Jim and Jessica! Old man Harrison! Spur! Clancy! Lorraine Baily's character! Even the snot who let the stallion loose ... they were all magnificent! And that horse chasing scene had me on the edge! This will always be one of my faves!
Movie Review: Very Recommended! Summary: 5 Stars
As an australian myself, I can say that this movie is one to be proud of owning. The characters depicted in the movie are very real and believable with strong screen presences such as Kirk Douglas and Tom Burlinson. Tie that all up with the beautiful scenery of the Snowy Mountains and the award winning soundtrack of Bruce Rowland, make this DVD one of my all time favourites.Saying that, don't waste your time or money buying the sequel. It is possibly, one of the worst movies ever made.
Movie Review: Woah! Summary: 5 Stars
This movie was GREAT!!!! It is definitly a keeper! I really dont see what is so great about Jim riding down that hill? I mean I really LOVE this movie, but I could do that on my horse! No offence to other people, but...... well other that that it is a GREAT movie! I love Jim's horse Andy! He is SO kool! on my TV it looks like jim has GREEN HAIR!

Movie Review: A Classic Set in the Australian Outback Summary: 5 Stars
This 1982 classic features Tom Burlinson as an orphaned horse trainer named Jim who goes to work with a wealthy rancher named Harrison. Tom's father's best friend Spur is Harrison's twin brother and encourages him to prove himself. Complicating things is the growing connection with Harrison's daughter Jessica who constantly has her spirit broken by her father. When a prize horse goes missing it gives Jim a chance to earn respect and to win over Jessica.
Movie Review: My All-time Favorite Summary: 5 Stars
I first saw The Man From Snowy River when I was 8 years old and now that I'm 23, it's still my most favorite movie. I've probably watched it close to a thousand times by now, with every line memorized. There is not a single thing about this movie that's not amazingly beautiful, and the sequel is just as good--if not better, then the first! I would absolutely recommend this movie to anyone looking for some good, wholesome entertainment!
