Movie Reviews of The Man From Snowy RiverMovie Review: THIS MOVIE 5 Stars
This movie Rocks!!!! I love love stories, and I love horses!!! If you are just the same, then you better buy this movie!!! Its not really all romance, but it has a little love. There is also lots of horses and horses and horses!!!!! Great movie for any age, thrilling and exciting. The story is mostly about a young lad, trying to prove himself as a man after his father died in a accident. He must prove himself so he can prove that he can live in the high rough country like he once did with his father. Meanwhile, he falls in love with a sassy young girl who loves horses and hates life as a woman. Her father hates the boy, but in the second movie, return to snowy river, everything works out with a wonderful ending. I love this movie!!!!!
Movie Review: Want to Run With the Brumbies? Summary: 5 Stars
Man from Snowy River, like most cowboy movies, is best seen on a huge-screen movie theater, but, if you donÕt have that, get the DVD and it can even pass the tiny-screen test of a laptop. It is a beautiful Australian movie that runs with the brumbies through each story line of a young manÕs and womanÕs rite of passage, the stale feud between brothers, petty coworker battles, a mine showing color and horses running and snorting everywhere. So saddle up with some popcorn and ride this movie into its vistas of green, mountains, fog and snow to a nice musical score. You will need the mountain horse that Spur gives you and a really cool dog to cross Snowy River. Hold on when you see how a real riders rides down the mountain.
Movie Review: PLUS - PLUS - PLUS- AND THEN SOME Summary: 5 Stars
Hey, missileman, right on!
This movie will intrigue horse-lovers the world over. Definitely a keeper --- guess I will keep the video and DVD copies.
Would like to know more about the horse[s] used, especially Craig's gelding. It seems to have a bit of lag when Curly tries to pull off the bridle and when Craig puts it back on again.
But who can pick apart a thoroughly enjoyable movie that is such a treat to watch.
I would love a copy of the article [Western Horseman?] of how the cliff-jump was orcastrated - what a fabulous stretch of photography - and her cliff-hanger? Wow!
Just intensely great!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Review: Excellent movie Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of my all-time favorite movies. The story line is interesting, the romance is exciting, the acting is flawless, the horseriding action is phenomenal, the scenery is breathtaking, and the music is superb. I can't say enough about this movie; it's one of those rare films that leaves you wanting more as the ending credits roll.
I had the VHS for years, then bought the DVD. I had planned to get rid of the VHS, but decided to keep it after watching the DVD because the picture seemed darker, making some scenes a little more difficult to view. But I will keep both for my collection because I love this film so much, and I also bought and highly recommend the soundtrack.
Movie Review: One of the ten best Westerns ever made. Summary: 5 Stars
The great cinematography, music and terse screenplay are not all that is involved. First, to have a great western, you need the horses. They often get the best scenes in this beautiful film, and rightfully so. This is a film about horses, and growing up. This is a film that comes hard on the heels of classics such as "Shane". The bad guys here don't get plugged in the forehead with a Colt 45, they simply fail. The good guys win in the end because they have done the right thing. If you ever believed in those ideas, then you will love this film.
