Movie Review: What do you expect from Dark Shadows Director?

If you have read all the other reviews and you like fantasy, time travel romance, you will like this movie. I always loved Dark Shadows and I liked this movie and will get it soon. At the time it was on tv I thought it reminded me of Dark Shadows then I found out that Dan Curtis had directed this. He was the director or producer of Dark Shadows. This makes a lot of sense for him to make this movie if you have ever seen the old tv show or the remake of Dark Shadows. This is one of the most enchanting films I have ever seen.Just suspend belief that letters can travel in time.The ending dialogue fades with the music in the graveyard but comes back to make sure you know who he has met.
The film is played out to a background of New England autumn.You have to feel sorry for the fiancee as a power is forcing the two main characters together apparently hopelessly.
Now where should I leave my letters.

I just finished this movie after recieving if from amazon.com. I had it taped from the time it aired on television, but when I found it on DVD it was a must-have for my collection. "The Love Letter" is a wonderful story that leaves its viewers dumbfounded. I must admit (I'm a little ashamed of this)- I do, from time to time, check for secret compartments in antique desks. I first watched this movie by accident last year on the Hallmark channel. It is an excellent movie, especially if you like a nice new twist on the usual love story. Campbell Scott and Jennifier Jason Leigh are great in this. They connect through the past and the present, and you really can not figure out how the movie will end. I have this film, have watched it numerous times and still enjoy it to the point of feeling what the young couple feels when parted for a time and maybe "forever". (I'm not going to tell you the ending!) If you like to be entertained and cut the TV off feeling as if you've spent your time well, buy this movie. I plan to buy a DVD when a good one comes out.
