While this is a feature film, it shows a Cuba prior to Castro but during the Bastista Era and the daily struggles of a Cuban family. Set just prior to the American involvement in Cuba, the insights that lead up to the Cuban Revolution, and the painful decision to leave Cuba, show a family torn between the Cuba they know and long for, and the Cuba, Che, the United States and Castro will kill for, if opposed.Movie Review: Excellent Acting, remarkably accurate in portrayal of history

Thank you Andy Garcia for making this movie happen.. I was drawn deeply into it and thought it was incredibly well done.. Kudos to your friends Bill Murray and Dustin Hoffman.. The movie has the look and feel of Cuba in 1958 and 1959 and portrays impecably the greatness and the sorrow of that very tight window in time.. I strongly recommend anyone to view this well done film by Andy Garcia.

Wow. What a movie. This is defintely to keep you on to the screen until the very end. Good actors such as Dustin Hoofman,Bill Murray. But my favorites such as Steven Bauer and Andres Garcia were spectacular. Makes me want to be living in that Era, just because the costumes and the backdrop was so very real. Lost City is about we american people. The american people that has lost his identity due to we are not americans anymore, we are HISPANOS. We were americans in the 50's but not anymore. Americans are people from the US. Lost City is about that. Thank you Andrés Garcia, now Andy Garcia, for reminded me of all the things i have lost.
