Movie Reviews of The Long Walk HomeMovie Review: Wonderful Film -- Terrible DVD Summary: 4 StarsThis is a marvelous film that gives an accurate account of life in the middle of the 20th Century in the Southern US. I couldn't wait for it to come out on DVD. And what did we get? The usual horrible ARTISAN shoddy worksmanship. The DVD has no extras, not even a trailer. It is in full frame instead of widescreen. But most important, the print is terrible. It is very soft, as if it is a copy of a copy. There is no sharpness to it at all, and colors bleed. It is as bad as Artisan's "The Quiet Man." Artisan should not be in the DVD business, as they have no concept of quality. I would be ashamed to work there.
Movie Review: mike's opinion and review Summary: 5 StarsThe film, The Long Walk Home, was a very excellent one in that it showed how things really were at one time. It showed the brutality that people had toward our fellow man and how people don't respect others because of a God-given feature such as skin color. It was hard to watch at times, hard to believe that people can be so rude, ignorant, and immature. It opened my eyes as to how exactly black people were treated and how they were looked down on and mis-treated. This film is one to be remembered because it showed the truth, and even though the truth is not what many wish to see, it is the facts. Odessa showed courage, love, and most of all faith. These three virtues helped her immensely to get through the tough times of her life. I recommend it to anyone who wishes to seek knowledge about the past and wants to learn from it.
Movie Review: The Long Walk Home Summary: 5 StarsThe Long Walk home was a very informative and pleasurable movie. I first viewed the film in morality class. I thought it was just going to be another boring movie but to my surprise is was excellent! The movie provided an excellent view on the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the prejudices that were faced by the people living in Alabama at that time. The movie presented me with a clearer understanding of the boycott as well as the moral issues that were faced by those who were affected by the boycott. The characters in the movie were captivating. They were so strong in standing up for their rights. Odessa despite the long walk refused to ride the bus and Miriam despite her husband continued to drive in the carpool. The movie proves that one person can make a difference and change the way others think.
Movie Review: the long walk home review Summary: 5 StarsI watched the long walk home in my morality class. I think that it was excellent. It was very informative and taught me a lot about the Montgomerey bus boycott. From this movie i learned just how mean people really were in the 1950's. I think that it was cruel how blacks were treated just because of their skin color. I think watching the movie gave me a good sense of something that i knew had happened but i didnt know how bad it was until i saw this movie. I think that everyone should watch it once in their life, by watching movies about racial segregation people might see how horrible it was and will make sure to be nicer to people of different races. I would highly recommend watching this movie. I deserves 5 stars not 4.6
Movie Review: The Long Walk Home Summary: 5 Starsit was a pretty good movie and is worth watching if you want to know about how people had to go threw an oppression and did not have equal rights.
