Movie Reviews of The Lone Gunmen - The Complete Series

Movie Review: Surprisingly Good
Summary: 4 Stars

I went into The Lone Gunmen with limited expectations. After completing the series I must say I am thoroughly impressed. It seems that a series of this type (a spinoff from the popular series The X-Files) has huge potential to bomb and while it was canceled by Fox the episodes themselves were very good and very original.

I've seen some compare this series to The X-Files which I don't think is fair in any sense. There are no monster mysteries here, mostly conspiracies that need to be uncovered. The cast is very good (especially with the addition of Eve and Jimmy Bond, both excellent characters) and the writing behind the show is top-notch and very funny for a majority of the episodes.

I highly recommend this series to those who enjoyed any Chris Carter creation. Like most of his post X-Files series (excluding Millenium) this was canceled into it's first season but the episodes that are here are very good. Also recommended: Harsh Realm and Millenium.

Movie Review: Complete your X-file collection with this oddity.
Summary: 5 Stars

Great series for the X-fileophiles out there. I do not think I can recommend it for anyone else though, mainly because I do not think non X-file fans would "get" it..

Movie Review: Shockingly Good
Summary: 5 Stars

For the most part, I wanted to give this series a five-star rating to boost it's overall rating here. This is a very well done series: smart, very funny, and just quirky enough. It's a different type of show than The X-files, so I don't think that they can really be compared that way. I think this series is better. I remember being sorely disappointed that the show was dropped after only one season. They just don't make them like this anymore.

Movie Review: Better then X Files
Summary: 5 Stars

I really dont understand why they could not do more episodes, why there were not enough people watching this. The stories are good, OK a series about 3 nerds may not be anyones favorit - but they deserve to be continued. A must see!

Movie Review: MAJOR GLITCH??
Summary: 4 Stars

On DISC 2 in the Home/Main Menu there are no links to the following:

6) Madam, I'm Adam - The Gunmen meet a strange man who "may or may not" have been transported by aliens from a parallel universe.

7) Planet of the Frohikes: A Short History of My Demeaning Captivity - The Gunmen match wits with an intelligent chimpanzee after it escapes from a government lab.

8) Maximum Byers - On a cruise ship in the Pacific, the boy's chase a man they think is Elvis, still live and kicking.

Considering this was done by Deluxe Labs and Fox - you would have expected better "Q"uality "C"ontrol - I haven't tried it on my PC as of yet. This should work as I have had other major DVD's with Chapters missing from the Main Menu.

This stops me from giving it a 5 star. If it wouldn't be for me liking the show I would give it a 3 for this reason. I am contacting Fox and AZ on this.

Final slimy complaint - both DVD's HAVE NO ART OR LABELS!!!

Are these Bootlegs

I bought direct from AZ
