Movie Reviews of The Lizzie McGuire MovieMovie Review: A Surprising Roman Adventure Summary: 3 StarsMovie Title: The Lizzie McGuire Movie

Length: 94 Minutes

"Imagine that you've ruined your eighth grade graduation and then you meet the biggest pop star of Rome, and then he asks you to sing on the International Music Awards! What would you think or say? How would you react? Well all of these things happen to Hilary Duff in The Lizzie McGuire Movie.
My first most important point to show why this is a great movie is that it's very humorous. In one part of the movie Lizzie (Hilary Duff) has to give a speech at her graduation, and as usual she doesn't know what to do. So as she walks off to get a drink of water she falls and tares down the background curtain and as she doesn't know this was recorded on national television. Another funny thing is when she is trying on a bunch of clothes in Rome at a designing company. One of the outfits that she tries on happens to be too tight. As she walks down the runway, she trips over her foot and falls right on her face.
My second important point on why this movie great is that it is done just as well as the television series which is called Lizzie McGuire. This movie is like the final episode that ends the television show. The movie shows her graduating from middle school and going on a trip to Rome with some of her classmates and the principal that they will have for the next four years of high-school.
My third important point is that Hilary Duff plays a great role in the movie, accompanied by Adam Lamberg, Ashley Brilliant, Haylie Todd and Jake Thomas, and. so far Hilary Duff is one of my favorite actresses. In the movie I can kind of relate to her because it seems like she gets embarrassed sometimes and in my life I attend to also. Also in the movie there was one part where I connected with her because at that time, I was going through kind of the same problem.
All in all, this entire movie was one of my all-time favorites when I was nine because it's filled with adventure, beautiful scenery like all the roman landmarks, comedy, and a little bit of romance like when she really gets to liking the roman pop star Pablo. Also in the movie it is kind of sad because she is finally leaving middle school and going onto high school. This movie has many exciting things, surprises and twists great especially for girls.
I would recommend this movie to eight to eleven year old girls because this movie is more girlie and mainly it would be for girls who are interested in Hilary Duff (and the rest of the actors/actresses that are involved in the movie) Also it would be more for girls who like comedy, excitement, and romance.
Will she have enough guts to perform live at the International Music Awards? Will she fall in love with the biggest pop star of Rome, or will there be a twist? If you want to find out, then hurry up and go buy the Lizzie McGuire Movie.
Movie Review: Lizzie mcguire Summary: 5 StarsI love the Lizzie mcguire episodes. I also love the movie. I love the parts when Gordo and Lizzie kiss and when paoula sets up Lizzie to sing and be famous. I love LIZZIE MCGUIRE FROM ADAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Movie Review: Cute, but not as good as the series Summary: 3 StarsThis was a cute movie, albeit implausible. In some ways, it's a young girl's dream. I missed not seeing Lalaine as Miranda, and wondered why she wasn't in it. In addition, I wanted to see more of Sam, Jo, and Matt. However, I loved the parts with Matt and Melina together. I missed Lanny Onasis (Matt's silent, but profound friend), Larry Tudgeman, and Claire too. Lizzie's graduating class sure looked different from her class on the series. Plus, there were too many "explanations" and discontinuities. When was she elected secretary/treasurer of the student council? And, she didn't get to go to the spring fling dance.
Hilary's performance was okay;Yanni's performance was stereotypical. The supporting cast rocked, actually.
All in all, it was a nice way to end the series. I don't see how they could've made an effective sequel, so I'm glad they stopped here.
Movie Review: Duff is a dud Summary: 3 StarsThis movie is probably the best of the ones tween nightmare Hilary duff has made, but that doesn't say much. She's pretty but incredibly fake and movie was just about her a Italian guy in love and then he betrays her..blah-blah. Some little die-hard Lizzie fans may like it, but most will find it a drag.
Movie Review: Great movie Summary: 1 StarsI screen everything before I let my 6 year old daughter watch it, and her cousin had recommended the Lizzie McGuire TV show. I found it safe, wonderful family fare. I must admit, I enjoyed the show almost as much as my daughter, and often watched it with her. But also, as a mother, the one thing I have always appreciated about Lizzie McGuire is that it gives me lots of opportunities to have little teaching moments. This movie was no exception in that respect. Despite her parents not being as involved in the movie as this parent would have liked, we still often hit the pause button to talk about what was going on and why. It made for a great first mother/daughter chick flick.
Yes, the plot is a little "out there" at times (what high school would send out a field trip with just one chaperone?). But Lizzie plots have done that many times before, and we still loved the show. The sight of Ethan Craft flying back and forth on his skateboard in his hotel room delivering lines on perfect cue still rings in my memory, and is one of my most favorite scenes. It also tells you that for as hillariously dumb as the character is, the actor behind it is quite talented. Also notable was Sergi- the stereotypical bodyguard who successfully integrated stone-cold comedy with a warm and tender heart.
We missed Miranda deeply, and it would have been nice to have her family a bit more involved- perhaps chaperoning, can you imagine Matt loose in Rome? But we had a cameo from Melina, who is always great fun. Adam Lamberg did a wonderful job as Gordo, and had some really great moments as the ever devoted, silently in love, way-too-far-beyond-his-years Gordo. It allowed Hillary Duff to transition her career into a show performer with a great number at the end. Disney is not known for suspense films, the plot twists could be seen a mile away. But for as predicitble as the plot was, it even managed a surprise ending- the redemption of Kate Sanders!
This is the stereotypical Disney fare- family safe and great fun. Well worth the investment. Though I really did miss the outtakes at the end...
