Movie Review: Pre-Disney Ashman at his best

When we lost Howard Ashman, we lost one our most imaginative and entertaining musical-theater book writers and lyricists. "Little Shop of Horrors" should be counted among Ashman and Menken's best, using old-fashioned rock and roll and comedy in this revision of Roger Corman's original and memorable sci-fi schlock flick. As to Frank Oz's directing, the dark "Skid Row" number alone is worth the price of admission. Your feet will be tapping throughout. Add this film to your private collection.
