Movie Reviews of The Life of David Gale (Widescreen Edition)Movie Review: How far are you willing to go to fight for your cause? Summary: 4 StarsThat's the question I had to ask myself when I watched this movie. How far are you willing to go to fight for something you truly believe in? The topic of the movie is the death penalty. Is it used unjustly, should here be a death penalty? You have people who are for the death penalty, and people who are against it. David Gale against the death penalty. David Gale is accused of rape, and his world is turned upside down. He is ultimately fired from his job, and he loses his family over this incident. He is very much against the death penalty and will go to great lengths to support his cause. When Constance Harraway his death penalty partner, best friend and confidant is raped and murdered David Gale finds himself on death row.
He refuses to speak to anyone until 5 days before his execution, and then he will only speak to Bitsy Bloom. Bitsy feels that he is supposed to be on death row, but as she finds clue that shows other wise she is in a race to find out what really happens so she can try and help prevent Gale from being executed. The story is revealed through a series of flashbacks, which kept me very interested in how this would unfold. This movie is truly deep!!! Kevin Spacey is simply marvelous in the role of David Gayle. I was really into all the twists and turns this movie takes you through. You have to not just watch this movie, but really pay attention to this movie to the very end. I really enjoyed this movie, and would watch it again. I found this to be a riveting drama.
Movie Review: keeps you guessing Summary: 5 StarsThis movie is excellent. Kevin Spacey and Kate Winslet bring out outstanding performances. You feel compelled to love David Gale even though he is a committed rapist. I love the direction of Alan Parker with the spinning camara and the words flashing as it dissolves from present to past. And toward the end, it keeps you guessing and a BIG surprise is at the end.
Movie Review: WOW! Summary: 4 StarsTRULY AN AMAZING MOVIE. DAVID GALE IS ON DEATH ROW JUST 4 DAYS AWAY FROM HIS EXECUTION. HE CALLS ON ONE REPORTER, A MS. BITSEY BLOOM, (PLAYED BY KATE WINSLET) TO CONDUCT HIS FINAL INTERVIEW OVER A 3 DAY PERIOD (THE LAST 3 DAYS BEOFRE HIS EXECUTION DAY). AS SHE SPENDS MORE TIME WITH HIM BITSEY STARTS TO THINK THAT MAYBE DAVID REALLY HAS BEEN SET UP AND IS ACTUALLY INNOCENT OF THIS MURDER. SHE RACES AGAINST TIME TO FIND THE EVIDENCE WHICH WILL PROVE HIS INNOCENCE AND SPARE HIS LIFE. WILL SHE MAKE IT? AND WHAT EXACTLY WILL SHE FIND? YOU'LL HAVE TO WATCH IT FOR YOURSELF TO FIND THAT OUT! BUT THIS IS DEFINITELY AN INTENSE AND A VERY EMOTIONAL MOVIE. I HAD IT FIGURED OUT ABOUT MID-WAY THROUGH THE STORY WHICH WAS A LITTLE BIT DISSAPOINTING TO ME BUT IT WAS STILL A GOOD MOVIE. AND IT RAISES SOME INTERSTING QUESTIONS SUCH AS: ARE SOME CAUSES REALLY WORTH DYING FOR? AND SHOULD WE (AS HUMAN BEINGS) HAVE THE RIGHT TO DECIDE WHO LIVES AND WHO DIES? AND WHERE SHOULD WE DRAW THE LINE? LASTLY, WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO DIE FOR SOMETHING YOU BELIEVED IN?
Movie Review: Brilliant Summary: 5 StarsWhen I decided to view this movie I didn't know what it was about, no idea.As the movie progressed I was so engrossed with what was going on and what was the plot. I was so shocked as to what happened in the movie and the roles that everyone played. People that you though meant nothing in the movie were some key players. The theme of the movie centers around the death penalty and how far people will go to let the goverment know that it is not fair. Watch it, you will not be disappointed!!!! Later
Movie Review: not too hard to figure out Summary: 5 Starsjust saw the movie, it was great the ending was suprising. but i have to admit that i knew what was going to happen from the moment the govenor ask david how many innocent people were put to death while he was in office and when her sickness became known. when you believe in something so strong and someone so easily says something that just shoot a hole in it, in return your determined to still proove your right and they're wrong. you saw how david made point after point and then the govenor ask that one question and he couldnt answer. then you find out she's dying and she knows she's dying. from that point on it should be soooooooo obvious whats going to happen next.
