Based on a Dashiell Hammett short story that became a good Hope vehicle. It's a Christmas story that is better than its reputation. Once again Hope is in trouble, this time with organized crime. He's short of cash, is on a short deadline & so he goes out scamming with his buddies as bellringers!The featured song is "Silver Bells", a duet performed by him & the female lead Marilyn Maxwell.
The DVD quality is good but there aren't any extras. Enjoy this any time of year but, especially, at Christmas. There has never been very many comedians at the same level as Bob Hope, enjoy watching one of the best comics of his day, or any day, for that matter.

Alot of people have not heard of this Christmas movie.
"Silver Bells" previewed on this movie (that's what I had read anyway, I don't know if that is true) - but it is a great old movie!
