TRIVIA & BEHIND THE SCENES: Narrated by the great Rex Allen. The very catchy title song was written by Disney composers the Sherman Brothers, and sung by the Sons of the Pioneers. The exciting background score was by Disney veteran Oliver Wallace. Tagline for the movie, "A tale of the old west told in story and song". The other tagline for movie posters was, "The Hunter... The Hunted! In one lifetime he was both". Directed by James Algar and Jack Couffer. Jack was a long-time animal trainer for Disney, and two decades later would help produce "Never Cry Wolf". The filming was entirely on location in Sedona, Arizona and the scenery is beautiful. Filmed in Technicolor. Also included in many theaters with the movie was the Disney True-Life adventure short featurette "Water Birds", and the Goofy cartoon "Aquamania". Screenplay By Dwight Hauser and James Algar, based upon the story by Ernest Thompson-Seton. Released back when there was such a thing as a "G" rating, on November 7, 1962. First VHS release was in 1985. Running time is 67 minutes. DVD aspect ratio is 1.33:1
