Movie Review: On The Game on Life
Summary: 4 Stars
This movie was done in the manner that it is expected to deliver. Shot in the Low Country of Savannah, with beautiful shots of the greens, the South and golf are a perfect background for reflections on life. One would have to expect this movie to be slow, long, and enjoyable, like a picnic and lemonade on a sunny day. Will Smith's dramatic turn from his usual action hero roles is likably refreshing. The cinematography is breathtaking. The young boy cast as the young Harvey Greaves was engaging, as well as Jack Lemmon narrating the story. This movie is not for everyone; it can be a sleeper or frustrating at least if you are trying to dissect the mini plots that entertwine with the main plot. This movie is not about golf, racism, the Great Depression, romance...it is about the game of life. A great way to spend an afternoon or evening if you can get yourself in that mood.
