Movie Reviews of The Legend LiveMovie Review: Great Live Marley DVD Summary: 4 StarsAfter purchasing the Legend DVD, I purchased this one. This was a great performance. I loved the entire set and the audience reaction to the music was great. Favorite tracks on this DVD were I Shot The Sheriff, Exodus, Jammin, Is This Love, Stir it Up, Concrete Jungle, and Get Up Stand Up. You can tell Bob was responding to their energy. The Marley family should release additional live DVD's so fans can watch a great artist at work.
A must have for any Marley Fan.
Movie Review: Next best live footage to Live At The Rainbow IMO Summary: 3 StarsBUT, this is a must have for any Bob fan. My only complaint is that the video mastering could have been better, but it is in widescreen 16x9 and in 5.1 Dolby Digital......great enhancements.
My Live @ The Rainbow VHS's video quality is better than this show, but I guess they did their best. So bring out the L@TR on DVD in widescreen and 5.1......and it will be a great collection of Bob's best live footage available.
Movie Review: finally available on dvd Summary: 5 StarsI have owned this on vhs for several years and to see it expanded and remastered for dvd release was quite a thrill to me. The original version of this was only a few songs, the set list on the dvd is at least doubled, and now contains the entire concert. There is a documentary and some interviews with Bob and Tyrone Downie (keyboards) talking about Rastafari. The concert however, is the main feature and Bob and the Wailers really showed up to play. Seeing the horn section live in concert is quite rare, the horns only toured with the band on the 1979 tour, so any video from it is quite rare. Some rarely performed songs are also featured in this dvd release, the one that stands out to me is "So Much Things to Say" from the Exodus album. This song is a real gem and wasn't performed much in concert by the Wailers. If you like Bob Marley and the Wailers, this dvd is for you. The audio quality is amazing, and the video for being so old is actually quite good. The documentary and interview with Bob and Tyrone only add to this dvd. If you like the Wailers or reggae music, this dvd is for you, if you don't get it borrow it from a friend, it is that good.
Movie Review: Please release the 'LIVE AT THE RAINBOW' 1977 show!! Summary: 5 StarsThis is great but I still much prefer the exodus tour show they filmed in 1977. Also, they filmed a full concert for Old Grey Whistle Test in 1973 when Peter Tosh was still with the band! That would be the holy grail for Marley fans if they'd remaster that and release it!!
Movie Review: A great representation of later years Bob!! Summary: 5 StarsI almost could not believe my eyes when I saw this released on DVD. After owning the Laserdisc version, this was for years my prized possession, since it was not readily available on VHS. The LD format was limited to 60 minutes due to it being released as a 1-sided disc. To see an extra 30 minutes of footage is an added bonus! This is the concert as it was played live, with minimal editing and no frills. Long live Bob Marley...Jah Rastafari!
