Movie Reviews of The Last DragonMovie Review: Nothin like this on stage, screen, radio, TV or cable, baby! Summary: 5 Stars
First of all, I'm a "thirty-something" and I LOVE the '80s, big hair and all. I loved this movie in the theater, but since then I'd only seen it on (rented) video a couple of times. (...) But good things come to those who wait. The DVD looks and sounds fantastic and it's like seeing it in the theater again--actually even better. Almost everybody I know who has seen this movie likes it, including my nephew who wasn't even alive in the '80s. It has a wide appeal that goes way beyond race and generation--a likeable hero, a beautiful leading lady, obnoxious villians that you love to hate (Julius Carry probably had a blast playing Sho-Nuff), killer martial arts, and even a nice tribute to Bruce Lee. It's just plain fun!
Movie Review: The Legendary Bruce Leroy Summary: 5 Stars
Right up front I have to admit that I've always had a soft spot for this movie. I saw it at least 10 times in the theater (by comparison, I saw Star wars twice, fifteen years apart). This is a classic B movie. There's not a lot of explanation, you just take it as it comes. Taimak is wonderful as the serious Leroy Green who seeks only enlightenment. In his way are the wonderfully evil Sho Nuf, the self-proclaimed shogun of Harlem and Eddy Arcadian, video game king. The story progresses briskly and with enough surprises to keep you interested. The climactic fight is great (if a little predictable) as is the ending. I can't believe it took this long to bring it to DVD!

Movie Review: It's about time!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I was wondering why this movie was taken out of print for so long. I was also wondering if it would ever come back, as I continually watched the copy that I recorded from HBO(THANK GOD FOR DIRECT TV AND A SUPER-VHS). Well I am thrilled that they put this urban classic on a format that could capture all its glory that I remembered seeing when I saw it at the movies for the first time. In my opinion this is a classic and should be shared with all. The only complaint that I have is the lack of additional content on the DVD version. THIS WILL BE THE SECOND MOST WATCHED DVD IN MY COLLECTION - NEXT TO FRIDAY!
Movie Review: Sum Dum Goy Summary: 5 Stars
This is without a doubt the funniest oath to the Bruce Lee Legend in an 80's pop music Harlem atmosphere without doing damage to the Legend of Bruce nor disrespect. If you got to mention something highly irritating it would be 2nd rate supposedly tough crook Eddy Arkadian. Could have picked a million better to cast for bad guy. Then again nobody could have done a better job on the SHONUFF character! That man is absolutely genius! I'd bet he is the SHONUFF untill the brother dies. Too bad the TAIMAK did not really become famous in his day. Fast providing by amazon and best of quality.
