Movie Reviews of The Last DragonMovie Review: A Classic Summary: 5 Stars
I LOVED this movie back in the 80's when I saw it. I was a little apprehensive before I bought the DVD, wondering "Am I gonna like it as much as I did back then?" Man, I still have the soundtrack to this movie. So, it is with great enthusiasm, that I tell you that the DVD is OUTSTANDING! It was just as entertaining as it was back then. AHH, Finally, Sho-Nuff, Leroy, Eddie Arcadian, they're all there in digital quality. If you've not seen this movie, seriously, it's great. It's one of the truly underrated movies of its time. It's funny, but with great action scenes. If you're a fan of the 80's, this one's for you. This has been a cult favorite for a long time, I'm so glad to see that they brought it out again. My wife even enjoyed it, and that says a lot. The price is great and well worth it. So sit back, get a bowl of popcorn and enjoy.
Movie Review: 80's Urban Kung-Fu At It's... Summary: 5 Stars
I'll let you fill in the rest of the statement. I bought with my son in mind because he like martial art films. He even picked out William H. Macy (Wild Hogs (Widescreen Edition)) which blew my mind. Plus, Sho'nuff was funny, he reminds me of Busta RhymesTurn It Up!: The Very Best of Busta Rhymes.
It was good to see Vanity (in the 80's) she is a beauty!
Some will say the movie is corny. I like it, you can tell that it is a movie from the 80's but maybe that's what makes it good. Like I've said before, movies are for entertaiment - my kids & I were entertained so we give it multiple "thumbs-up". Sho'nuff!
Movie Review: I can't hear you Leroy! WHO'S THA MASTER! Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is one of the greats if you love Kung-Fu. I grew up watching this film over and over on a VHS and to this day I can still quote each scene with the movie word for word. I have to disagree with all the folks who say its "cheesey" because by watching the film in that frame of mind, takes away from the fun. And you also have to look at the era it's from. So what if its not along the standards of todays film? It's a blast. And I must say that they couldn't have invented a better villian for the film than Sho-Nuff. Julius Carrey is the man. And I had the biggest crush on Vanity when I was little because of this film. I'll end by saying that this film is addictive and is an all time great, with one of the all time greatest villian lines, "Kiss my Converse." Come on, you gotta admit smiling when you say it.
Movie Review: Kung Fu Krush Groove Summary: 5 Stars
This is a true classic. LeRoy... is a kung fu poser living in Harlem. He has been trained very well by some guy who tells him that in order to ascend, he must master "the glow". What is this 'glow'? In order to find out, our hero goes on a series of wacky misadventures which ultimately lead to a final cataclysmic showdown with the meanest, prettiest, baddest, lo down moFo up around, Sho'nuff. (Think Samurai meets Afrikaa Baambaataa and the Soulsonic Force). Of course my boy Sho'nuff smacks Leroy around, thus giving him (Leroy) the power to overcome and master the glow, thereby endin Sho's reign of terror. Then some guy Shoots Leroy and what happens next? Alas, I can't give the ending away, but it's delightful. Just like this charming romp about perseverance. It rock rock, body rocks.
Movie Review: Forget the critics! I love this movie! Summary: 5 Stars
I don't know why such a bad review is posted here on Amazon? I am sad that the 80s are over, but I still have my DVD to watch any time I want. Bruce Leroy has to go up agienst a bad dude by the name of sho nuff.. All while tring to find the inner glow that will give him the power to defeat his foes... He has to help a beautiful lady named Laura Charles a video DJ who is harassed by some crazy promotor who will stop at nothing to get a video played on her show.. I love the film for the action and we get to see some Bruce Lee in it too! Leroy is sent out on a mission to find the way to reach the glow and when he has to fight Sho nuff, he finds out that he is the master! I loved this movie and I wish that there was a sequel... Grab some popcorn and just sit back and have fun...
