This is a great, great movie. Based on the book. I'm a huge movie fan. I don't want to give away the movie, but it is about a man who ends up righting a wrong of his past. Very sad story about two childhood friends. I recommend to any seriouns movie fansMovie Review: Absolutely Fantastic

I wanted to see this after hearing the book on tape. The only down side was they weren't able to capture as much detail, especially in the friendship between the two boys, as in the book but that's to be expected in a movie. That aside, this movie was fantastic. It captures the ingorance of youth and how decisions can affect you for the rest of your life. The story centers around two boys in Afghanistan, one the servant of the other. On the day of the Kite Tournament, one boy witnesses something horrible happen to the other, but does nothing. The shame causes him to drive the other boy out of his home. This haunts him for years until he receives a call from Afghanistan that can give him the opportunity to make things right again.
This is a wonderful story of sacrifice, friendship and just how far we are willing to go for those we love. A definite must see.

The Kite Runners is a movie about two Afghani boys, whose friendship develops despite class differences. An incident occurs that results in one boy rejecting the other; however, the other boy remains unwavering in his devotion to his friend, even when falsely accused. The boys are separated after invading Russians force the richer boy and his father to leave Afghanistan, later relocating in California. The other boy grows to adulthood and suffers the harsh oppression of the Taliban. The Kite Runners resonates with the universal complexities that bind true friendships. But it is also a story about the development of the human spirit to resist totalitarians. This is the best movie I have seen in a few years, and I emphatically recommend it.

The movie was a very good adaptation of the book. I'm glad I had read the book first as I could really understand the film. Sometimes the subtitles were hard to read so I was glad to have the knowledge of the story. Movie Review: Touches Your Heart

I have not read the book, but I really liked the movie. The roles played by the two young boys are so good. It's a touching movie. It's a must watch.
