Movie Reviews of The Karate Kid II

Movie Review: The Pinnacle of Ralph Macchio's career
Summary: 5 Stars

This is my favorite film in the Karate kid series, edging out part 1, and heavily favored over part 3. Taking the story back to Japan, and getting Miyagi heavily involved were excellent touches that pushed this film over the top. The music is faaannntastic. I can not even begin to describe the greatness of this musical score. Daniel's love interest is beautiful, and Chozen is one of the greatest, most evil bad guys in the history of cinema. If Asian actors were more accepted in Hollywood, that guy would be regarded as one of the finest actors in the game. But, I digress. The best in the series, and a must see for all ages.

Movie Review: For The Glory Of Love.
Summary: 5 Stars

The Karate Kid Part II continues the story of Daniel(Ralph Macchio) and Miyagi(the late Pat Morita) as they travel to Japan to help out Miyagi's old girlfriend and her niece(Tamlyn Tomita from The Joy Luck Club), however, they are confronted by Miyagi's old foe Sato and his nephew and Daniel's new enemy, Chozen. The martial arts sequences were great to watch as well as the romance scene with Daniel and Tomita's character. The theme song of the film "For The Glory Of Love" became a big hit in 1987 and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Music Score. This is the best of all the Karate Kid series.

Movie Review: There's a reason....
Summary: 5 Stars

There's a reason why this movie made more at the box office then the first one did and it's because this one got real. Daniel is no longer fighting for a title but for his life in this awesome squeal. This is my favorite out of the entire series cause it gets real and honest and has Daniel fighting for his life as his mentor prepares to fight for his. In this movie Daniel is left to find his own way basically as his mentor has some problems of his own this time around and this makes for a very interesting spin as Daniel suddenly finds that his mentor is not made of stone.

Movie Review: Fantastic!
Summary: 5 Stars

With the new Karate Kid movie (with Jaden Smith) in theaters now, I took it upon myself to purchase the original Ralph Macchio movies and watch them with my son. Karate Kid 2 is wonderful!
If you're lucky enough to find them in your local store, like I did; you will find coupons for a movie ticket to watch the new Karate Kid (with Jaden Smith) and/or concession stand food ($10). so, in essence, you're getting the original movies FREE!

Movie Review: A beautiful movie with a profound message
Summary: 5 Stars

Miyagi and Daniel travel back to Okinawa. Hate is wrong. Miyagi practices the principle of peace, refusing to fight Sato. Until Sato forces the issue. Miyagi sacrifices himself for the safety of the village. Miyagi breaking the beam of wood was electrifying. The power of mercy is paramount. I loved the message and power of this movie. Miyagi and Daniel redeem the viewer, a hero, and a champion of good.
