Sometimes it is good to see an old classic horror/thriller movie. "The Invisible Man" is fun to watch. The special effects for 1933 were superb and the effect of invisibility was kept a secret for many years.
This DVD set will reveal that secret to you by film historian, Rudy Behlmer.

It's a snowy night as a bandaged man (Claude Rains) tries to make it to The Lions Den Inn. Everyone in the tavern looks at him oddly as he enters, but the patrons are odd themselves. He rents a room from Jenny Hall (Una O'Connor) and insists on privacy. This man has a horrible secret that has effected his body. It is driving him mad. He will soon be forced to reveal his secret.
Una O'Connor is also in Bride of Frankenstein (2935), My Favorite Spy (1942), The Bells of St. Mary's (1945).
Gloria Stuart as "Flora" is also in The Old Dark House(1932), Secrets of the Blue Room (1933),Titanic (1997).
Henry Travers as "Dr Cranley" is best remembered in It's a Wonderful Life (60th Anniversary Edition) (1946). Walter Brennan is a bicycle owner.

Dr. Frank Griffin (John Sutton), who is the brother of the deceased John Griffin, goes to the prison to visit his friend. Geoffrey Radcliffe (Vincent Price). He only sees him for 10 minutes. 35 minutes later, they discover the prisoner is gone from his cell. Only his clothes remain. Radcliffe has escaped by the extraction of an East Indian herb combined with other ingedients to render him invisible. His fiancee, helen (Nan Grey) has also disappeared suddenly. She is with her fiancee radcliffe and the Inspector (Cecil Kellaway) is hot on the trail.

Cedric Hardwicke (Rope (1948)) plays "Richard Cobb". He returns in The Invisible Agent (1942).
The Invisible Woman (1942) 72 min.
This film is made in the comedy vein. Professor Gibbs (John Barrymore) puts an ad in the newspaper to turn someone invisible with his machine. Kitty Carroll (Virginia Bruce) has been chosen for the adventure. What she would really like to do is get even with her former boss Mr. Growley (Charles Lane).
An all-star cast of character actors: John Howard, Charles Ruggles, Edward Brophy, Oskar Homolka, Donald MacBride, Thurston hall, Maria Montez, Margaret Hamilton (fresh from her Wicked Witch role in The Wizard of Oz (70th Anniversary Two-Disc Special Edition) (1939)), and Mary Gordon who played the Screaming Woman in The Invisible Man (1933), "Cookie-the cook" in The invisible Man Returns (1940), returns as "Mrs. Bates" in this film.
The Invisible Agent (1942) 80 min.
Five thugs (Cedric Hardwicke, Peter Lorre) harass printer frank Griffin (Jon Hall) for his grandfather's drug of invisibility. He manages to twart them. He takes his formula to the military who want him to become invisible and find an agent in Berlin. Not only does he get to take a bath, he invites himself to the dinner of Maria (Ilona Massey) and Karl (J. Edward Brumberg).
Keye Luke (Kung Fu tv series 1972-75) is a surgeon. Jon Hall was in The Hurricane (1937).
The Invisible Man's Revenge (1944) 78 min.
Jon Hall returns as a fugitive, Robert griffin, accused of killing 3 people in a psycho ward. He was bumped on the head 5 years ago after fighting his way through the jungle with Lady Harrick (Gale Sondergaard) and Jasper (Lester Matthews) after finding a diamond field. His friends left him there. Five years are a blank, until 2 months ago he was hit by a loading crane. His memory returned and he ended up in the hospital. Now he returns to Lady Herrick and Jasper for his share of money. They give him a mickey and throw him out. Later he meets Dr. Drury (John Carradine) who makes him invisible. Now Robert can get revenge of his former friends.
