Movie Reviews of The InvasionMovie Review: Good but not great Summary: 4 Stars
I actually tend to like this a little more then some of the reviews I've read. I do understand another remake really wasn't necessary and I don't disagree with many of the points made. However I did find the film enjoyable. It definately lacked a real sense of terror but was suspensful at times. I thought Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig did a real nice job. And just for the record I have never been a fan of Nicole Kidman. I think if you look at the film as it's own entity instead of comparing it to the original Body Snatchers you make like it a little more. Overall I would say definately worth renting but not buying.
Movie Review: A cult classic reborn on DVD Summary: 4 Stars
This film was Bombarded with aggressive criticicm. I've read too many reviewers just take into it some sort of unexplained anger and pathetic expectations as if it were made by George Lucas and flaunted that it cost so and so millions. Don't read the NyT, don't read the trollies, just consider how fun it could be watching a world where something terrible is expected. You slowly observe a creepy wierding all around you happening, and that maybe you're the only one not affected. And you learn you BETTER not go to sleep or ELSE! Danial Craig and Nicole Kidman are unnerving and fun to watch. Good suspenseful movie.
Movie Review: Pod People Again Summary: 4 Stars
Each incarnation of the Jack Finney story has been a product of the time inwhich the film was made. The original during the Cold War, the Phil Kaufmann remake during a time of Jonestown and other cults. Now this version in the era of the pandemic. This isn't a bad picture. It just isn't remarkably new. Daniel Craig, while working on this picture, got the word he had been tapped to follow Pierce Brosnan as 007.
Movie Review: One to see Summary: 4 Stars
If you ignore the original two versions of this storyline, you will find that this is a well-done movie. The characters do things that require a stretch of the imagination to justify but that is what movies are for - to escape from reality. Good movie. Too bad the professional reviewers are so prejudice against any movie that is not about real life death or sorrow, or is an "artistic" model.
Movie Review: 4 STARS FOR NICOLE Summary: 4 Stars
THE ONLY REASON TO WATCH THIS IS FOR Kidman....Like Jodie Foster, Kidman plays a great woman in distress and she drags you with her every step of the way. Great fun.
OH! And Craig looks great with that mascara!
