Movie Reviews of The InheritanceMovie Review: Better than expected... Summary: 5 Stars
Had purchased a Harlequin DVD (Recipe for Revenge -RFR)along with The Inheritance (TI). Having watched RFR first, was a little disappointed with how the story ran so took a few days before watching TI.
Was so happy that I did, as I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a light, romantic period piece, which highlighted the goodness in people. Sometimes you watch a movie, and think it was too far fetched, but having seen Edith's role; I have a friend very much like her so could relate.
And who doesn't like to see Good thrive over Evil.
The actors played their roles well, and you didn't feel like you were watching a B-grade movie, which is how I felt watching RFR.
Hope to find more DVDs like TI.
Movie Review: Excellent Movie!! Summary: 5 Stars
This movie ranks right up there with other period pieces such as "Sense & Sensibility" and "Pride & Predjudice." One of the things I loved about it was that it was a wonderful, romantic story that left out all the crude sex and nudity and foul language that is so common in most movies today. But it wasn't cliched or monotonous. It was refreshing to be able to sit down with my young daughter and watch a movie that I felt did not corrupt her mind. It is an innocent and tender story that speaks to the heart. If you like filthy language and overt sex scenes, then this movie is not for you. But if you are looking for something clean, innocent and beautiful, then I highly recommend it!
Movie Review: Great low-production value chick flic Summary: 5 Stars
The music would have been better if it were not recorded with a synthesizer but the acting and storyline is fantastic. I have seen it many times and fall in love with the characters even more each time I re-watch the movie. I have yet to read the book, but am looking forward to doing so. This movie is appropriate for teens and young adults and serves as a great lesson-type film for it reveals the rewards and consequences based on a one's morals. This is not your typical "knight in shining armor' fairytale, but an uplifting, progressive story about women who take control of their own lives in an age where women could not yet vote.
Movie Review: Wonderful Period Piece Summary: 5 Stars
If you love period movies, you will love this story. The fact that it is an american movie and not a british one takes nothing away from the effect it will have on your heartstrings. The story is a underlying romance that has a "Cinderella" theme. A story of one individual's unselfish actions for those she loves. The house is amazing and as big as it is, you can feel the love of those who live there. You will also despise the one individual that trys to destroy the life of another. It is a consumate example of the saying, "what goes around comes around." The actors were superbly chosen for the roles they play.
Movie Review: Great Movie; fun historical fiction Summary: 5 Stars
I won't do a whole review, just add a quick note: this is a great movie. The acting and casting are great; the plot is great; the suspense and drama are great. I love historical fiction and this is it.
It's refreshing to see someone moving outside herself for the good of another. What a unique idea in this "me generation" society. I bought this for myself and another as a gift and may buy more for other friends who like this genre. I like films from Jane Austen's books as well such as Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice, but I like this one even more. The DVD Little Women is good, too.
