Movie Review: A good girlie movie!
Summary: 5 Stars
Well, I bought this movie from the recommendation of others. As I live in Australia, I can't get it here so rely very much on the excellent ratings of everybody else at Amazon. Well, girls you haven't let me down. I love period movies, and this one didn't disappoint. I fell in love with the whole Hamilton family. The girl who played Edith was so convincing and showed an natural inner beauty that you couldn't help but fall in love with her. I can see why Ida was so jeolous of her. I won't go into the details of the movie as others have already told you the plot, but just to say thanks for your reviews. I have watched it twice now and my sister and I have cried over it, our faces looking so red and the guys just laughed. What is that makes us love such a good story like this?? I gave it a 5 star because it was a nice change from the movies offered today. It is rare to find a family movie that depicts life where honesty, humility and self-censure is shown in such desirable way. When Louisa wrote this book, it was standard fare in society, but today's children are not raised this way. I am glad that the movie didn't try to place this movie in the setting and societal norms of the 21st century instead of the author's.
It was a sweet romance, which I think it was played with tenderness and sensitivity. The characters were portrayed as I think Louisa would have cast them. My only complaint was that the story could've been developed a little more. This is one of my favorites and I will play it over and again with my granddaughter, I am sure.
Movie Review: a rare charm

this movie was wonderful from start to finish.
usually i get bored during certain scenes and skip through it to an interesting part.
I didn't have to do that with this movie.
the costumes sets, the acting and casting were perfect, and the story was good and held my interest the whole way through the duration of the film.
every scene was so sweet and the emotion from the characters was overwhelming.
if ur a hopeless romantic than this movie is for u and it's unbelievably cheap for the quality of the movie.
i put this movie up there with everafter, it's so beautiful.
there's romance, intrigue, scandle, jealousy and more romance, and a surprise twist at the end that u'll never see coming.
Movie Review: Alcott with a Twist

I didn't realize that Louisa May Alcott had written the novel, The Inheritance, until I borrowed the DVD from the library. After I viewed it once, like a good book, I couldn't put it down. I viewed it several more times before I purchased it from Amazon. I love the storyline and the sweet, patient heiress who doesn't realize that she is an heiress. What a delightful twist for Alcott. Also, I read the book, which is not quite as delectable as the movie. Perhaps this was because it was one of Alcott's first stories; she was just getting her feet wet as a novelist. However, I still prefer The Inheritance much better than Little Men or Little Women. I encourage everyone to view this DVD; it's a sweet, innocent romance.Movie Review: great romance that the whole family can watch

When I bought this movie I had never seen it and I wasn't sure if I would like this movie. I assumed that since it was such a low price it possibly was also low quality. I was very wrong. It is a high quality film and definitely one of my most favorite movies. If you like movies that take place in the 1800's or early 1900's like "Road to Avonlea" or "Anne of Green Gables" or "Emma" with Gwyneth Paltrow you will love this movie. It is a decent movie which is what makes it all the more romantic, not at all like the lustful junk in most movies today. For those who are still wanting a rating(since this movie is not rated) I would give it a definite "G" rating.
