Movie Review: An inspirational boxing story
Summary: 5 Stars
Denzel Washington stars as the prizefighter boxer Ruben "Hurricane" Carter in this classic movie. This movie is about a wrongly accused man, Carter, who is sent to jail for a murder he did not commit.It is a very intriguing story, because the chances of Denzel Washington actually being in his tight situation are so slim. But he was caught off guard, and subjected to racial and prejudiced trials and law officials.
This movie is motivational and entertaining. It brought tears to my eyes, and some parts were also humorous. There was a lot of drama in it, and a lot of story. Ultimately, I think it's a great movie to watch if you want to watch something realistic (this movie was based on a true story).

This film gave me a sense of freedom of soul when I was depressed. It also made me realize power of believing in somebody's soul. It's sometimes very difficult for me to trust others around me or to make them trust me. But if you have courage to go on what you are doing, you can see sky as beautiful as "love and justice" sometime in the future. That's what this film taught me. Actually some episode seemed too romantic for me, for example three Canadaian men and women are too kind and naive. However, the performance of Denzel Washington is wonderful. I rate this film as five stars mainly because of his realizing of a real story of a real man. He is fantastic.Movie Review: the hurricane was a masterpiece

i watch the hurricane last night thinking that it was going to be another boring prison film, but it was like the film touched me in a way. it was a story about a man who believe in things so much that nothing was going to change it and for that i think Rubin deserves some repect. Denzel Washington played the part perfectly and they even looked alike which makes it more believable. after watching the film and never even hearing of Rubin Carter i am now purchasing the book it see how it must of really felt for him. i guess after hearing such a powerfull story like that u wonder how messed up the world really is and that law isnt always right.Movie Review: The Hurricane Is Beautiful

For whatever liberties Norman Jewison's movie takes with the "facts" (it IS a movie, after all), this film moved me like few others in 1999. No other actor could have pulled off the solitary scenes like Denzel without looking ridiculous. This is why they make movies about "true stories": if you find it compelling, you seek out other books, articles, etc. about the subject and form your own truth. Don't rely on a single Hollywood movie for all the "facts". I highly recommend the DVD; once again, a first class effort by Universal with an insightful running commentary by the Director.Movie Review: Inspirational!

I got to tell you Denzel surely pulled this one off. His acting performance was beyond great. Sometimes you have to wonder if you can act a certain roll someone else is doing and there is no doubt in my mind that no one could have pulled this off like Denzel. The movie was great and to believe that it is a true story made it so much better. I have to commend Hurricane for staying true with himself and never giving up. It was nothing but a blessing that those people and that young man came into his life. I really and truly enjoyed this movie. It was even a tear jerker. A must watch.
