Movie Review: Wonderful transfer to DVD!!
Summary: 5 Stars
I have been watching this film on video & laserdisc for the last dozen, or so, years. Never have I seen such a fine print! The beautiful technicolors come shining through. The reds, blues, & yellows are all brilliant & vibrant. As for the story, it is a wonderful telling of a union army raid deep into the south, that's based on a true Civil War incident. There is real chemistry between Wayne & Holden. And John Ford's masterful directing skills are evident throughout. i love john wayne and i love this movie. william holden costars but make no mistake this is john waynes movie all the way. as an officer sent behind rebel lines to attack a rail line wayne does his always great job and the action is crisp and the story is just right. join wayne and holden and "the horse soldiers"

The Horse Soldiers is a very production! I enjoy watching the film. The DVD has excellent resztoration. (The last time I saw this one on TV the copy being broadcast was in really bad shape!) It is an excellent DVD and worth the price!Movie Review: Sense of Honor among men

This is one of my favorite movies by John Ford. It shows a sense of honor among men and between North and South. The character of Constance Towers adds a surprising twist. Great humor also abounds.
