Movie Review: Loved it!
Summary: 5 Stars
This movie had me laughing unexpectedly, and I really felt for the characters, esp. Posner...it seemed as if Dakin was on the straight and narrow, and yet I was surprised that he was really feeling Flint! Whether you're British or American, when you're at that stage of your life--being a senior, time growing short before you leave high school for good--the anxiety of getting into a college is nerve-wracking, and they caught that perfectly.
I really felt sorry for Hector; a married man stuck in a marriage he shouldn't have been in, and resorting to feeling up the boys in his class. It hurt to have him die at the end. All in all, I loved every bit of it!

When I saw that a movie was being made based on the smash West End play The History Boys I was excited to see the finished product. I must say the movie exceeded my expectations! The movie follows a group of high school boys at a small school in England as they prepare for college interviews. This movie brings out a range of emotions from joy to sorrow. I saw this twice in the theater. It is better than any movie I've seen in ages. As soon as I saw it the second time I told myself, just buy the DVD.
This film is alive and the acting is first rate. The pace is perfect. I would change nothing except the ending which I found rather bizarre. However, this aside, the movie is about as good as this genre gets.

I believe that this movie is probably one of the best movies I have ever seen. It speaks of honesty and truely captures a certain essence that has not been seen on film in a long time. These actors are GREAT, and I am absolutly blown away by their performance, not to mention that they made this movie with same cast that they used for the stage production. I saw this movie in the theater and could not wait for the DVD to become available. I back-ordered it with Amazon, and the minute it arrived, it was sent out to me. You must get this gem. Only one word of warning; if you have trouble with this English-English, put on the captions!
