This was a very good movie; Director Raimi was so creative as he directed Cate Blanchett who held your attention as she became embroiled in a murder mystery in a southern town that did not approve of her psychic predictions via card readings. I was especially impressed with Giovanni Ribisi and cannot seem to figure how why a performance like his was not nominated for an Academy Award? Everyone else was wonderful and convincing; Keanu Reeves played a departure from his normal characters and did a great job! The suspense kept building, the sound track is compelling. Highly recommend!Movie Review: great movie!

i saw this movie not long ago, and i thought it was great. at first it was a bit confusing for me, but then the fog cleared and it was great. jessica king (katie holmes) gets murdered and she gets found in the pond of some guy (keanu reeves) who beats up his wife (hillary swank) and they all think that he is the murderer. but is he? the person that first found out where jessica was was the town's local phychic (cate blanchett) and she claims that its not keanu reeves character. it was a great movie and i recommend it to any one who likes murder-mystery.Movie Review: Spectacular and rivetting.

Without overdoing it, Raimi has created a very memorable and eerie film. Cate Blanchett is perfection as usual...compelling to watch. The film's true gems are merely in its terribly startling horror shots...particularly one of a fiddler near a pond. It's very reminiscent of Twin Peaks. Anyone willing to buckle down and throw themselves into this film will reap much from the investment...but admittedly, there is no feel-goodness. Kids under 17 probably shouldn't see it at all unless you want nightmares (and other issues) on your hands.Movie Review: Movie review (not DVD) but GREAT MOVIE!

Being a thriller and a horror movie buffster, I have to say that this is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Probably one of the best movies of the new Millennium so far. The fact that it didn't get more attention despite outstanding performances from it's fabulous cast will remain a mystery to me. All were worthy of recognition, most especially Cate Blanchett and Giovanni Ribisi. This movie is a definite reccomendation from me for any of those seeking a smart and spine tingling thriller. Twisty ending, very neat ghost story, memorable characters, difficut situations...The local lady who makes her living and supports her kids by telling fortunes sees the ghost of a girl. And everything goes from there... disbelief, anger, hostility and scorn from the locals; some from the police, even as they ask her to help; a greiving fiance, a violent local troublemaker, more red herrings than a fishmarket and you've got a movie.
Did I mention Keanu Reeves is in it? Even if he plays an arse...
