Movie Review: A Great Christmas Movie
Summary: 5 Stars
I love this movie. The message is timeless. I remember watching this movie when I was a little girl. I loved it then and I was surprised at how much I love it now. It is exactly as I remember. This is a movie the whole family will enjoy. It was fun to show it to my teenagers. They thought they would hate it but they didn't they thought it was "okay", which translated into parent terms it was better than they thought it would be. The movie is clean, no swearing, no nudity, no inappropriate jokes or innuendos. Just a good old fashioned Christmas Story about being selfless and cherishing the ones you love. Marie and Timothy are fantastic as well as the rest of the cast. I especially enjoyed watching a young James Woods, who plays the nerdy fiance to Marie. The one draw back is with the cinematography, you can definitely tell it was filmed on a sound stage. But other than that this movie is a treasure. I wish they would show it every year on TV. But since they don't I had to buy it.
Movie Review: osmond fan

I have recently started collecting old dvd's. I am an avid movie fan especially romantic movies. Seeing this movie and having been a fan of the Osmonds and recently seeing Marie on Dancing with the Stars reminded me of this movie and how much I enjoyed it. I look for it every year hoping that it will show at Christmas time but it never does. I would love to share the warmth and love it made me feel the first time I saw it with my children.
I ordered it and can hardly wait for it to come.
Anyone who truly enjoys an innocent and beautiful love story should include this dvd in their own collection.

The title says it all, because I really love this movie. Marie Osmond and Tomothy Bottoms give a really great and believable, yet entertaining performance in this warm hearted, charming and romantic story. I really loved some of the dresses that Marie wore in the film. They were beautiful and elegant. I loved this movie when it first was shown on tv, and still love it today. The Gift of Love I really enjoyed this DVD. I remember seeing it as a Teenager. Mom would make us popcorn as we sat and watched this christmas story. Marie did very well acting in this one. The costumes of that Era were absolutely beautiful and Marie looked stunning wearing them. Although Marie could make a potato sack look good. A sweet love story where two young people unexpectedly fall in love and the young lady calls off a prearranged marriage offering great wealth and a life of ease in favor of a life offering only true love. How does it end? Buy the movie. You won't be disappointed.
By the way, The song The Precious Gift of Love will stick in your mind and you will find yourself singing and humming; but you won't mind. The words are lovely and the tune is simply beautiful.
