Movie Review: Enchanting
Summary: 5 Stars
What an enchanting movie. From start to finish, I was enthralled with it. I didn't know what to expect upon first viewing but was drawn in as a casual fan of the beautiful & engimatic Gene Tierney and was beyond pleasantly suprised. Try mesmerized. This has since become one of my favorite movies.
The choice of Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison was inspired and could not have been more suitable, more right. I loved the chemistry between these two. The movie is also graced with a wonderful ambience boosted by a perfect score, lighting and direction. It is truly one of the most endearing and enchanting love stories put to film. Can you tell---I love this movie!
Movie Review: Classic movie about timeless love

One of my favorite movies, every time I catch it on I stop everything and watch it. You should too. While it has its funny moments, which any story about living with a ghost will, it gradually moves from comedy to drama, when the Captain's Ghost disappears from Mrs Muir's life. They both know they will be together eventually, as soon as Mrs Muir dies. She lives the rest of her life alone, happy with the thought she will be together with the Captain the moment she dies. The ending gets me every time! He takes her by the hand after she dies and says "you'll never be tired again." Makes you wish you'll one day find such a person to wait for, even in death.Movie Review: Love and Loss

As a teenager in the 70's I watch this film. I was so captivated by the story and the performence of the actors that I desired to see it again. I finally seen the story again and it is a classic that will not be dimmed by time. The title misleads that this will be a ghost story. At first it seems the late Captain Gregg will try and scare Lucy Muir from Gull Cottage. But Mrs Muir loves the house and lets the Captain know she is determined to stay. A romance develops while she writes his biography. But can the living love one who has died? The story covers Mrs Muirs life to a very satisfying conclusion. The Ghost and Mrs. Muir is simply romance in its truest form. Gene Tierney's elegant Mrs. Muir combined with Rex Harrison's gruff, worldly Captain Greg made this film sizzle. Hollywood rarely has gotten it right since. No touching, no graphic sex, yet the viewer is captivated from the first moment. We believe that they are destined to be together from that moment, but somehow we don't grieve for their earthly separation. We also believe that somehow, just maybe, we will find that salty sea captain or elegant widow too, and we will walk our destinies together. i ordered this on amazon and got it fast as usual. i have watched it twice already and will watch it again real soon. i am waiting for the tv series to become available so i thought i'd buy this is the meantime.. boy was i really pleasantly surprised !!! i could not beleive how wonderful it was !!! trully a very romantic movie,too bad he could not come alive and they could live happily ever after, but they do in the end.... yay !!!! this will be one of my all time favorites forever.it was nice to know that the little girl saw captain gregg too,how cute !!!a true timeless classic......
